I have had a couple people ask me about the hatch window spoiler I installed....

It's just a rear deck lip spoiler that NY2002 bought off ebay...and I bought it from him. I cut it to 41 15/16 inches and stuck it on....42 inches would probably work too.

If you mount it flush with the top of the window...it will rub the roof when the hatch is completely open.
I know there's many ways to prevent the hatch from opening all the way...
but here's what I did.

I bought one of those dog leashes that retract into the handle....they make many different one's for different sized dogs...I just bought the one for 60+ lb dogs, it's a thicker string.

I wanted to mount it to the bottom of the left deck.

I took the walker apart and mounted it to the bottom of the deck.

I also drilled a hole and put in a rubber grommet, so the string would get cut.
I then adjusted how far I wanted the hatch to open...and now the walker prevents the hatch from opening all the way, and the string retracts out of site when the hatch is closed....

and it's hidden from view;)

This is just what I came up with;)

Innovative, very innovative. Never thought I'd see a dog leash used in that manner, but that's cool.

I will definitely be doing that roof spoiler. That is an awesome idea man, I can't wait to do this.

Not understanding why you dont want the hatch open all the way?

it will rub the roof when the hatch is completely open

which will eventually rub the clear coat...then the paint...exposing metal.
:D

You don't have to mount the spoiler flush....

can you take a couple more pics of it farther back? one from the side, and one straight back.

do yo have any issues with the wiper fluid reaching the window?

ps- i really regret selling that to you!

You know, if anyone wants to avoid the rubbing thing, there is another option.

You could always apply it to the roof itself, of course, making a cutout for the now un-functional wiper nozzle. It would make it even more of a ROOF spoiler because it would actually be on the roof.

I think it would look wack, but it's another option for someone wanting to spend $20 to be a guinea pig. It's only 3M tape, it'll come off with some rubbing compound if it doesn't look right.

Check out my cotm nomination.....for more pics....I don't have my camera right now.
the washer fluid doesn't reach anymore....which I didn't care about.

PS. Thanks for selling it to me.

Ugzz -- The washer fluid squirter is on the roof of the car, in front of where the spoiler sits. The fluid hits the spoiler instead of the glass.
