alright guys with the impending trip coming up i'm starting to download lots of music to write to an mp3 cd to listen to so i don't have to keep changing cds. i'm mostly a rock guy and a little rap/r&b so just throw out some songs that you think are good for a drive.

i have sirius and i really dont listen to it, i still have my mp3cds and ipod to listen to when i get bored... and munky, i have all that throughout 4 mp3 cds, including what i call the most random mix ever:
Folders 2-5 Lamb of God Discography including their cd as Burn the Priest
Folders 6-?? Me first and the gimme gimmes discography
^munky i hope you copied and pasted that or you have too much time on your hands lol
download emilie autumn laced unlaced cd, its a fully instrumental cd based on the violin and an Electric violin, some of the coolest sounds ive heard in a while
when i do long trips i like to go old school and kick up some ozzy and some metallica then toss in some 90s like limp bizkit and some older korn and system of a down, maybe some disturbed drowning pool or old linkin park, maybe orgy spineshank then go 2000+ and just grab anything that was good i can find, then lastly i go to amazon or somewhere and click new released and look for bands i like on there and download their latest cd and toss that on too.
for long trips i usually take 2 mp3 discs with me that are full of real music, then i take a third with comedy skits, stand up, or corny stuff like vanilla ice/mc hammer/ tv theme songs etc.
and jim, in return to your phone call, im not going to be going, thanks for the offter though.. i mean as much as id love to drive the 5 hours to allentown then jump in another car and go to canada.. i just dont have the time for that kinda trip.

REGGAE, not reggea, raggae, regey, or reggee.... lol
YES! SOME GOOD REGGAE is what I recommend. I always carry around the full discography of Bob Marley along with some Peter Tosh, I love it!
...this could be the first trumpet.... might as well be the last... (someone try to figure this one out hah)
And, @tsmooth... how much LP can you listen to, they only have 3 albums, lol, from which one is total crap ;)

4 albums if you include Reanimation. 5 if you include the one with Jay-Z but I don't really count that one. So I would say 3.5 albums. I haven't heard the new one yet. but I can put Hybrid theory on repeat and drive wherever

I agree. It's not really amazing. A couple great songs and that's all.
Then again, I noticed a LOT of people have been downloading songs from Limewire, and there is a ****load of them that have been renamed and are not really the songs (I noticed myself), for instance, the other day, I downloaded some song from LP's new album on Limewire, from one that got like 90+ hits of the same file, and it was really a song from Fort Minor, lol. So maybe you got that Munky, I dunno.

i think the black album is my fav :)
i still vote on taking a crazy cd with random ****. i esp love throwing like 80s club music on it two, like the roxberry there and stuff. then toss out just rediculous stuff like the andy griffith theme. maybe some techno remix of inspector gadget lol -i played a few corny songs at pittsburgh meet i went to, but i kept it relatively on the dl hehe

You should take a look at KMFDM's disco with remixes and live CD's
They have 20 full length albums alone and 24 singles/ep's it's crazy.
So yea add KMFDM to the driving music list =D
^ Witch Hunt!
If you want lots of albums, go ICP ;)
they have close to 30 releases and like 25 singles and around 20 guest apearences +live albums, dvds etc.
i dont remember the exact numbers, i saw them on yahoo a while back. it was crazy

How about a mix of reggae and heavy metal in the same music? Check out Skindred... http://www.purevolume.com/skindred
Munky listed quite a few others I like... 311, Default, Incubus, Finger Eleven, AudioSlave
All of those are pretty much rock, 311 being a little different with some other influences. Oh, if you want a change of pace from all the rock, then check out Soul Coughing too which is very obscure rhythm-driven music. I just looked and they call it "Alternative Rock." Honestly, I don't think it fits in a genre it's so weird but it's fun to listen to.

I LOVE skindred! Thought I was the only one to listen to them! lol
Lately I went in a retro mood for my driving music
Van Halen, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Old Metallica, The Police, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Kiss, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Boston, Def Leppard, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Who, ZZ top, and many more....
Since I use my ipod both for car and work (8 hours of listening a day!) I needed a lot of music so I usually have a constant streak of downloads happening at any moment of the day. LOL.
Ok,I just installed a XM receiver in my car and now all I listen to is station 41 The boneyard, and 42 XmXl.Nothing but old Metal and speed Metal.I love XM lol
