umm before anyone says anything you should take those hood vents, steering wheel cover off and put your old wipers back on

on the upside I do like the blue you painted on the dash

I was thinking you were going to make a functional hood scoop...

Yeah, the blue dash looks damn good, reminds me of mine. :)

Do the blue parts on that steering wheel cover light up? If so..that's the first thing of it's kind I've ever seen.

Interesting.

yeah I couldn't tell if the covers were luminescent or just metallic and reflecting the camera flash.

luminescent would be kind of cool (though distracting)

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.

Would be cool if they came on with the dome light, though. Some short of show feature.

i think the cover looks cool, and i like that matching color :P

painted wipers only do it for me if the whole car has accents matching that color.. and since all yours are inside i duno what im feelin there.. but to each his own.

the scoops.. sorry but i think there very rice, i mean nice...... :D

only scoops I like are the kind you eat on a cone :]

JK but those scoops DO look weird.... maybe if they were
a) functional, and
b) color-matched to the hood

i second that.. if you had them painted to match and then actually cut holes in the hood and meshed them, then i think it would be pretty neat, and definitly something you dont see every day

Right on the money, though the wheel cover could be a lot worse.

Love the blue interior:eclipsee_ .The scoops ,well paint them body color and put them on your fenders, they might look better there(or not)

ok... i'm trying to figure out how i could cut out holes to make em actually do something... i need to plug them up when it rains or snows... i kinda have an idea but not sure if it will work the way i want...

im not gonna change anything cause i like it! and so does everyone else i know besides you guys/girls

interiour lighting... i want to change the air conditioning panel lighting and raidio lighting is it possable?... and for the lisence plate lights do they make blue ones in the same design

That's tellin' 'em, sport! Go for the look you like; it's your car. I am not usually a big fan of those steering wheel covers but it matches the interior paint well enough that it looks good.

Ditto everyone else on the faux hood vents.

Interior lighting: Search the forum; I'm sure it's been covered.

Blue bulbs on exterior: imo nothing but cop magnets. By themselves they might not get you pulled over, but if a cop notices he may look longer at you than at the Neon with stock lighting, if you get my drift.

they just look like they belong on an older style elantra (1990s). very round.

you could use a dremel to make them actually "open" though I don't know how functional they'll be, plus that's a very permanent mod ... the air wouldn't really be directed towards the air intake with those types... you'd get a better ram air setup if you had a slot like the WRX.

ORRRRR (easier)

get a true cold air intake (ebay) and set up the filter so it's in your drivers side fender (look at the DIY on this site)

since you don't have fog lights, you could either

a) setup one of those on the side of the fender/bumper to direct air towards the filter (would be easy since the bumper section is plastic)

b) cut out one of the fog light holes and run a tube from the hole into the fender well... this would be a good ram air type setup.

but either way, its your car, do what you want.

PS: avoid huge puddles.

If those vents were molded into the hood (and painted to match) they might look pretty good. I've never even thought of having vents in those areas, so that's pretty cool. As for plugging them up, you just need a couple layers of small mesh so that nothing too large gets down there. Some water here or there will probably be ok, especially with your intake away from the vents. You may want to consider relocating the battery to the trunk though.

thats a bit too much for me,but if you like it thats all that counts tho.

ya i have a dremmel and stuff so i could go with the smaller extra mesh to help keep the water out... i just dont want to leave it in the snow and rain at school or work csuse thats like a garantee that water will get in... so i think that ill just rig up some plugs or something... and i wasn't planning on buying those nents either... but w/e

yeah it would make more sense to make those vents functional and to do that you would have to move them to the top of the hood since your air intake is way up there. right now it just sucks in hot air. I don't think they look bad, so long as they are PERFECTLY symmetrical, but I'm for functionality so if it aint doing something for me, I don't want it.

can somebody explain to me the whole double wiper thing? first off it must suck when buying new blades since you have to get 4. also, do they "wipe" any better? better than a high quality single blade (ie. Bosch microedge or similar)? Doesn't it look funny when driving in the rain and watching these very large arms and quadruple blades moving in front of you? seems distracting.

saturn
06-22-2007, 10:22 AM
technically they'll last longer because each blade will only be getting worn down on a single side.

but it doesn't really perform any better than a high quality single blade.
