Hey, i got a ticket in the mail yesterday from may 26. I have to go to court on 6-28. Now that was the night that my endlink snapped around 12:10-12:20am and i was stuck on the opposite side of cleveland (westside)that i live on. I got the ticket on a street i don't remember being on(eastside) and i was never pulled over 11:05pm. the ticket isn't signed by me or anything. it just says "summons" on the part that i am supposed to sign. WTF! How did i get a ticket i never knew about. Its not one of those redlight camera ones. Its for music!!!! AGAIN!!!! I DON'T DRIVE AT NIGHT WITH MUSIC PLAYING AND MY WINDOWS DOWN! WTF WTF WTF! The ticket also doesn't have the traffic conditions or the weather on it. SO! WTF! How do they even know I was driving the CAR! Im going to court for this but WTF how can they do something like that. Im surprised they didn't put window tint on the ticket too since my windows were rolled up and 50% looks illegal and tests as 41% in some cities and 50% in others. WTF! The police are horrible! This might be one of those end of the month quota things im thinkin.
I think its time to move dude.
They just hate you.

Yeah man, move over here to North Carolina. The roads are great, the cops are great as long as you aren't excessively speeding (15-20 over). The people are nice.
But wait until after court. And make sure you eloquently explain to them what you feel about the ticket.

CAn't you challenge it? Get a copy of the police regulations, and see the requirements for a ticket to be legal. You'd be surprised how easily you can challenge it if you know what it's about. A friend once had him speeding ticket revoked because they took measured the speed on -10°C, and when he came to court all he said was: "The Draeger speed measurer that was used in this case has an operating temperature of -5°C to 65°C, therefore the taen speed may not be correct." They had to let him go... Maybe you can het a paragraph that says what the required fields are. Maybe there's a requirement (as it is here) for a report to be full so it can be valid.

im gonna try to scan it later. i don't understand why they didn't try to pull me over though if it was me. i can't even defend myself in court. If they can write tickets like that what stops them from writing a ticket for someone just driving down the street and saying they have a messed up headlight or sumthin. Then you go to court and say "my headlight works"...GUILTY! Defective headlight at that time and date. WTF! the law is not fair.

Can't do that. You need more proof than one person, otherwise, everyone could be calling in false complaints on the people they hate.

I don't get that one. I know that here in TX, the officer has to get a signed copy of the ticket, unless it's a toll road infraction or a red light camera.
I'd fight the hell out of that one.

in georgia you can do that...
i was stoped at a stop sign one day and when i hit my gas and started moving the avalanch(sp?) behind me hit his gas and tryed to pass me, he had to jump over early because he almost hit a car head on,
by jumping over early i had to hit my brakes in order to not get taken out...i pulled up beside him at the next red light and looked at him and asked what the **** he was doing. he told me to shut the **** up before he got out and "****ed me up".
so i got on the phone and put 911 on speaker phone and he hauled *** off... i gave them the tag number and locaton he was driving.. i got a letter in the mail the next week to apear in court. they gave him a ticket for wreckless driving, failure to maintain lane, improper lane change, and child indangerment since i had my 3 month old in the car....
but yes i woud deffnatly fight it if all that info is missing fromthe ticket and you didnt sign it its not a legal ticket..

I don't understand how you "can't fight it"? You have to go to court, so go and fight it. I would first try to contact your police department and see if they can tell you any more information than what is on the ticket. Do you have any witnesses that can account for where you were at that time?

yeah, def challenge. i have friends that get out of tickets all the time whether itbe for spelling errors, cop not signing, or evn if the cop doesn't show up to the hearing, the don't charge you
saturn
06-26-2007, 03:37 PM
well if he's being honest, this is a bogus ticket. there shouldn't be a need to hope the cop doesn't show up (which he will, they get paid to go to court) or some other technicality.
sounds like it was just a mistake.

x2 Problem solved:abovelol:
id say fight it all the way.. but after reading all your other posts it makes me wonder if they even listen to you..
in Virginia my friend got pulled over doing 102 and they called him down to court so that they could go over everything.. the judge asked him to explain his case, he opened his mouth and the judge shushed him and told him there was no excuse for that level of exessive speeding... he knew he wsa speeding and payin the ticket but why the **** did they call him down there just to waste his time.. now hes out the ticket, and a 5hr round trip and a hotel (his court time was 7am so he went the day before and got a hotel.)

its soo stupid that i get pulled over for stuff. I think I have the one of the 6 import on the eastside of all of cleveland. Out of all the car shows i've been to in cleveland for the last 2 years there are only 5 other tuner cars but 4 of them are your average busted bodykit, fart can, apc stickers, and aluminum spoiler. I always notice that i get the same stare down from police officers when i pass them on the street. I am getting tired of being harassed by them. Its either a bs stop or a check at a sobriety point. AND i was stopped at a sobriety stop twice last weekend. Once going towards burger king and again coming right back. WTF! like i was drunk within 5-10 minutes. ARGHH!!!!

I hate to say it, but that's what happens when you draw attention to yourself. That's just one more reason I believe in low-key. It's nice to be able to go cross country and not draw the attention of the fuzz from every town. I grew up with over-zealous whack-jobs, not the typical decent hard working cops. So I learned a thing or two about keeping low-key.
In this case, call the local police station and see what they say.

low key is the way to go.

f- being low key. how about not breaking the law. I've never received a moving violation in my car the only tickets i've ever gotten were for sound. I drive low key they just want to f with me. i have dynamat all in my trunk and behind my doors. and when i turn the volume up on my headunit i max at 15pts out of 60pts (IN THE DAY)so wtf? anything higher hurts my ears in the car. so im hearing 25% of what it could get up to. I wish you guys could see the stuff that i see when guys drive with their doors open like a PA system. I bet 90% of the noise violations are from that. So if a judge sees me they will think i was doing that and probly won't even want to hear me. thats how it was the last times i went.
They will think my car is like this.

well I looked online and found that i could file a [Motion for Discovery] so i ca get the officers notes and stuff. When I went to the justice center the clerk was like "we don't have any forms for that" and then i was like how do i get it and then a balif said that i'd have to go to a public defender to get one. So after waiting 1 1/2 hrs in the public defender office the guy told me they couldn't represent me or file the motion cuz there is no possibility of jail time so they won't do it. WTF! The legal system sux donkey balls. I then talked to him a little more and asked "So what stops an officer from writing down your plate and mailing you a ticket that says your music was too loud" and he just shrugged his shoulders and said "I guess nothing" WTF!!!!!!! AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do we have any lawyers on this forum?!?!

Great!!! I'm glad that's the way it worked out. The cop probably hoped you'd just mail it in so he'd meet his quota. Unfortunately you had to go to court, but I'm glad you didn't have to pay, too!
mbv2001

thats great you didnt have to pay or anything thing. just sucks you had to waste your time going to court for nothing. whoever the cop is that issued that ticket is a dirt bag.

A friend of mine also got a ticket on the mail and it turned out that the officer had writen 1 wrong number from the other persons license plate and
my friend got the ticket instead. when he went to court they found out it was for the wrong car. LOL.

Generally, trucks, vans and SUV are treated differently than cars when it comes to window tint. I don't know why. Here in PA you can even have the mirrored window film on the back and sides behind the driver on an SUV/truck/van, but not on a car under any circumstances.

Well my SPL meter came in the mail today and I tested the car. I got 110db in the car and 93db 8" from the trunk. then 10ft away I got 82db. WTF!!!!!!!!!!! HOW did I ever get a sound ticket period. The law is 50ft!!!! WTF!!!!! AHHHH!!!!!

Trucks don't even need a back window. Because you can have a dump truck (or whatever truck body) blocking that window anyway. Usually the law goes by what class of license plate you have.
