I got the PG&E bill today and it's $430, Last month it was $170. My roomate and his ***** girlfriend run the a/c all day without telling anyone else. The controler is in their room, so the only way we know it's on is if we feel the air coming from the vents. F***ing ****, I hate having roomates.

Why don't you just show them the bill and ask "Are you going to pay for this? Because I'm sure as hell not." Then if they don't want to pay it say you aren't going to pay for your part of the rent. Worse that can happen is you get kicked out of the apt then you can move into a place with a better roommate.
Anyway, the Electrical bill should NEVER be that high.

I've been thinkinng about doing that, but it would be him moving out. It's my name on the Lease, My fiance' and I are also starting to look at other houses for when we get married.
I'm gonna tell him ethat since his girl is there durring the day and has it on he has to pay more than just the equal 3 way split that we usually do.

Install one of those machines where you have to put coins in to run the air/heat. That way if she wants air during the day, she can feed the friggin' thing! :D  :D

Or do what I did to my roommate once many years ago...Go to Home Depot, get a lock out box, like for an industrial electrical outlet and put it over the thermostat. That worked in my situation, might help in yours as well. That or inform them that the rent will increase for the guilty party by 25% EVERY month.

I told him about it and he said he would talk about it with her & revoke her a/c previliges. When she came over she was there for less than .5 hour, and then took her stuff with her when she left. Hopefully we wont have to see her anymore.
I just hope she gets pulled over for not having a front license plate.

here we have a "baseline", which is set pretty low, and if we go above it the price goes up exponetionaly. If you use 200% then you pay 4x as much.
