A friend of mine with a 91 RX7 bought this lip from SHINE AUTO but then ended up geting a different lip later on, i measured his extra lip on my car and it fit almost perfect, i had to cut 1 inch of each end and now it fits perfect.
Took me about 1 hour and half to bolt this lip on.
do you guys think i should paint it?
This is the Diffuser front lip

that lip is low and has a gap or two, but if it was free or cheap, thats a good fit and a good deal. I would paint it. The gap might be more visible because it is black
I would put skirts on the car. It would look better The grand am skirts from some older year (do a search) fit your car. They would probably be cheap.
edit
I take that back, it's not that low. I just don't like lips without skirts...but a second look and it's not bad. Maybe it's cause it is black.
The car looks pretty good though. The wheels are a nice fit and the grill is cool
oh...and kill the license plate frame and get another one. It would help the look of the car.

yeah the gap in the middle is suposed to be there because its a diffuser lip

That's not bad at all. Make the color match the car and we'll talk.

no I meant on the corners. But it might be the picture. Read my edit as well.
other than that I actually like how the gap in the middle is a little smaller that the one on the car. Looks very stylish

yeah thanks guys, the guy i got this from gave it to me for free since he is a good friend of mine and also because i did some work on his car for free but here is the lip he got for his car that is kinda similar. i think it would also fit.

and yeah i am getting some side skirts later on too, i don't like it much with out the side skirts but for now i think it looks better than stock.
the grill is a chopped up 99-05 mustang mesh grill. took me almost 2 weeks to finish that project.
oh and thanks for pointing out the license plate silversharkxd2 i completely forgot about that ugly thing also i think its the picture because there is no gaps there exept for the middle part.
the lip is only about 1 1/2 inches low.

He might be talking about the left and right corners, they almost look like they are not flush. Other than that it looks real good, car could use a little drop though but looks good.
Never mind, he explained himself.

I will probably paint it later this week and post pics then.
i will be getting the eibach springs later on, i can't lower it yet with the tires i have 225/45/17, they will rub if i lower it.
the tires i also got them free at my work (ford dealership) , they came off a Bmw, dont remember why they changed the tires but they where still good with 8/32nds of thread.
its amazing how many free tires and other goodies i can get from there sometimes.
the lip may not look 100% perfect because its not made for this car but its a pretty darn close fit.

Right, it ain't a perfect match, but it looks pretty good. I'm going to echo the "get it painted" comments.

Trim that inside space to where it matches up with indentation of the bumper. As for the sides, some filler compound maybe? then get it painted.

Is there a full body lip kit for like $200?

Put the weed down. However, there was a limited amount of the Astrel/EGR lip kits available a couple years back for $250 that spoiled everyone on the price of lip kits. No back on topic.

I don't think it needs to be trimmed back that far. What if you just rounded off the inner square corners of the lip to give it a less harsh squared look? Even if you don't touch it, looks damn good for a free lip!

+1 to square IMO for the front of the XD.

Im not going to trim anything on it, it will probably ruin the lip if i screw something up. tomorrow im going to go buy the paint and hopefully if the bodyshop dept at my work is not too busy i can sneak it in there and paint it later this week. The lip kit i been aiming for is the M&S kit and im still going to get it when i have more money. i wanted that tib front bumper but i dont really want a fiberglass bumper , maybe i'll make my own if i find one at the junkyard. for now this lip will stay as is but painted and go from there.
I'll post new pics after its painted.

Just because it can bolt up doesn't mean it fits...

Nice, it looks pretty good. Can't wait to see the finished product after you've painted it.
BTW, your wheel/tire combo will fit with Eibach springs, with no problems. It's with anything else you may see some problems, like Sprint/Springtech.

Your right, it does not mean it fits, but for an alternative lip this one fits pretty close after cutting 1 inch on each end just how i explained on the top of this page.
Alot of people here complain that elantra lip kits are so expensive, well if you want something that is not going to blow a hole in your wallet this lip and similar ones go on ebay for like $100-$150. This may not be the look alot of people may want because then you need to look for sides and a rear to match, this thread is just to let you know the RX7 lips can be installed on our cars just like the pontiac sides and the spectra sides with minor work and modifications to them. these are just other lip options for those poor broke people out there that want a lip kit but can't afford one.

I think it's a good "slate" to start with. A little modifying (like trimming out the parts sticking into the 'opening' on the center) and it could be made to look pretty good, IMO.

XD2
i seached this and wanted a confirmed answer will these work?
for the front lip for an XD2 buy the front Sidemarker delete bumper molding from Dreamka4u.com that is a 2 piece bumper molding flat black that cant be used as a lip. it fits the curves perfect since its made for our cars. just need washers, screws, and a cordless drill!
and yes the touring cup spoiler is known as the Mach 1 mustang chin spoiler. its the same one i have. it had to be modified to fit, but ony fits the XD1 bumper.
the one from dreamka4u.com is $46shipped i believe, half the price of the mustang chin spoiler.
heres the link

by the way dont look at the pics its not what it looks like, this is what it looks like

those would work if you want them to fit as bumper moldings since they where made for our cars but, if your thinking of using them as a lip they might not work because they are too thin and wiggly to hold up as a lip kit.
Unless your actual question was to use them for what they where made for than yes they work.

^ Ummm.... NO....
They are sold as not only sidemarker deletes, but as lower lip attachments as well. They are very durable, and strong, believe it or not. As long as they are attached right, you'll have no problems with them. Just don't lower the car too much.

Ummm... yes, it's fact. Go look at DreamKa4U's website. It's in related links section.
You'll see it on a Black GT, the XD model.
eBay isn't your best friend, just to let you know. You really, really, really, need to check out the websites in the Related Links section. Your whole world will open before you when you take a look at them.

Nice very nice... hey matrix what about the sides
Matrixloader
07-01-2007, 12:26 PM
well, i am reconsidering the spectra sides, but the spectra has flares on on the front that force the sides to create a small bubble but maybe just maybe i can do something about that, although the 2000-2001 nissan SE-R sides look like they also might fit.
