just tinted it!!!

so i started a new job a a detail/tint/audio n' video shop.

i was talking to my boss today after waching him tint 4 cars in 2 hours... i asked him if i could give it a try, so he told me to pick wich tint i wanted and told me to get to it.

when i asked him what car i was doing he pointed at mine. i told him i couldnt afford to do it right then and he told me to get my *** out there and do it if i wanted to do it for the shop... i picked 35% charcole... 35% smoke looks darker but i may get pulled over and harrased for it even tho its legal..

so i just got a $195 tint job for free.. im going to post some pics tomarrow..

on a side note i asked him how much he pays for a roll of tint and he told me 150 for 35% smoke and for one 4 door car with the back windshield he charges $195 so after the first car is dont all the rest is profit... and he said he can get about 30-50 cars depending on size.... so thats anywhere from $5850-$9750 profit from one roll.... thats nice!!!

35 on the sides and 20 on the rear is what I have, it's pretty good.

When I got mine tinted, I watched the guy work. There is a lot of art in what you're doing.

Can't the small one's be pushed out as long as it's done within a couple days? Either way, good job man. I wasn't trying to bring you down w/ the last comment. It's just that I know it's not easy (even for qualified pro's) to get it perfect on the first attempt. Come to think of it, the really small bubbles dissapear as the adhesive dry so you may be alright.

I need tint. I was in my girlfriend's brother's car for vacation and that tint really helps keep things cooled off.

I can't do it...every car I've owned has had a minimum of 20% tint.

Tint is a must in Texas. 100+ in the Summer, yeah... you need it.

so i couldnt get any pics today because of work.. however i did help tint a 2003 range rover, it was nice the had some 24" black rims with the strut grills every were. i heard he also has a 2005 BMW 725I with white 24's and the same strut grills... i should have my pics tomarrow hopefully tho...

yeah yeah i know im slacking!!!!! but im doing a full interior clean and detail today so there will be some pics.... i promiss.....

also i know this is in the rong place but does anyone know where a diy(or what parts ill need to get)to do a 5lug conversion??? the shop im working at now has a set or RX-8 rims and i can get them for 120 w/o tires... (but im not sure if i can get the parts for my car to even make those rims fit...
i plan to get the rims and change the center caps(mabey to hyundai ones if thell fit on them...)

you basically have to change everything over to tiburon. hubs, brakes, etc. I don't know if there's a DIY but I've seen a couple of people do it and post their pics.

make sure those rims will even fit before you go switching things around.

well the law is 35% but what i have now is 35% charcole if i go with 35% smoke it will be darker... but still within the law 35% sucke its not really that dark i see cars coming from the factory with tint that looks darker than what i have,,,

i do like it but i still think im gonna put 35% smoke on the back and take off that charcole... im gonna put som 35% charcole on the front.. and im going with 40% for the rear windshield...
