Here's what i did.

Did front brakes finally on the Buick since pads were getting low and fronts were warped.

And a bit more sporty look for the interior on the Elantra. Cost me $20 for all the pedals (on sale at dealer) and 14 for the Tibby Accelerator arm. (that was a F***ING PITA to swap out)

And yes i know, i just havn't cleaned the interior yet and thats only about 3k miles accumilation of shoe dirt :P

Did you have to order the Tibby pedal, or did they have it in stock? I've been holding onto my gas pedal cover for over a year now. At the rate I'm going, I'm going to have to order a new brake and clutch cover soon when I finally get around to buying the Tibby gas pedal arm.

Go to a salvage yard! Tibs, 01-03 Elantras, and current-gen Kia Spectras have the right pedal. I paid $5 for mine. And I'm not sure what Silent Wolf is talking about; I had no trouble at all changing mine out. Did you take out the whole assembly, or just the arm, and leave the pivot in place? I just took it all out and messed with the pivot and stuff outside the car. Very easy.

And on that note, I've PM'd you back Doohickie!

And for automotive work:

1) My wife decided to scrape off some paint on her grandparents car a few days ago. I got to try for the first time "Rubbing Compound" by Turtle Wax. I tell you what, I didn't do a half bad job for my first time. I washed and dried the area, rubbed the compound all over the place (there were quite a few scratches and scuffs), and waxed it.

You can tell she hit something, because of the couple of dents, but only one scratch, deep in one dent, won't come out. It's all the way to the base coat, so it will have to be repainted.

2) My muffler has been rubbing and bumping in a couple of places by the back bumper. I took some 3/8" hose, cut it down the middle, and zip tied it around a couple points where it was vibrating. Now I can't here it hit inside the car.

And I did this all today in about 45 minutes. Woo Hoo!!!

Local yard is somewhat uncooperative with individual customers and dont have any tibs either to boot. So next yard is near Orlando which means gas $$$. I ordered the arm while i was at the dealer getting oil change and when it arrived the lady shipped it to my address.

And yes i took the WHOLE assembly out. Unbolt (the nuts anyways) at the pivot and yanked the ****in cable off, nothing broke, but i could not get the clip to push out initially. It is cramped ****ing quarters under there and i have numerous scratches on my right elbow and its a little sore from getting banged repeatedly while trying to work the pedal out under there. Now once i had the pedal out i worked on taking the pivot off while outside the car.

Yeah, I hate yards that don't let you wander. And half the time, the yards that don't let you in don't know what they have anyways. Sometimes the dealer is the best option.

Yeah, it is cramped alright. I don't remember having that much trouble, though. Then again, I used to work for a company that made accelerator cables and such, so getting that kind of stuff apart seems kind of obvious to me. Maybe part of it is that I take it for granted that my fingers, hands and forearms are gonna get scratched to sh1t whenever I work on the car. The day after working on the car, people sometimes ask me if I tried to give a cat a bath. :D

Monetary note: typical cost for those metals pedals + dead pedal (new anyways) is 30-40 bucks on ebay and/or elsewhere + whetever it cost you for the tibby accelerator. I paid 34 total with no hassle of going to a junkyard an such. All in all a good deal in my book.

:abovelol: I knew that too but still annoying as hell.

advanced engineering mathematics (diif eq.) is what I've been at most of today...and I'm not very good at it either.

Dude, you should have come out to Joe Poole Lake with us on Saturday. You'd be in a better frame of mind now.

I got a D in Diff Eq. It's probably the course I did worst in. Every other math course I took, I understood. There's no understanding Diff Eq; just MEMORIZE!

LOL nice. I take Diff Eq in the spring.

Those HyperAutoClub guys are pretty active. They usually have dinner in the Cooper/Matlock/I20 area every Friday night. They announce where it is in a thread during the day Friday usually. Sometimes somwhere nice (Mercado Juarez, Spaghetti Warehouse), sometimes just fast food. You should drop by sometime.

They're talking about Joe Poole again in August.

^ Man you guys must suck at school. I've been going to college since High School, 10 years now I think. On and off of course, so don't hate. But in the last year that I've been going to DeVry, I've made straight "As". What's wrong with you guys, not devoting enough time to studying?:)

Then again, I ain't taking nothing that difficult. Though, math is second nature to me, I should try one of those courses. Oh wait, I have. Calculus was a breeze. This semester, first session, I'm taking statistics. I am not looking forward to that class, but I'll still get an "A". I hope:rolleyes:

Went to work (Tues. is only 4 hr. day), came home and had lunch, took a nap, went grocery shopping and finished by playing the new Ratatouille game w/ my lil sis for 5 straight hours. (which is why this post went on today not last night)

what I did today, aka yesterday as thats when the thread was started, is I wanted to install my CAI and looked at modifying the stock coupler to work where I needed to install my MAF into the intake, but it wouldn't work. I also tried to get a different size to stretch over the pipe, but that wouldn't work, so I painted some engine highlights, and ordered a coupler off ebay. here's how it looks so far. The CAI is red aswell.
