I was wondering is this a good exhaust system http://www.evofusionusa.com/TeamSR/Hyundai/01elantra-catback.html They say it adds 20hp and 25lb-ft torque.
And also http://www.evofusionusa.com/TeamSR/Hyundai/01elantra-header.html
It adds 11hp and 14lb-ft torque. What do you guys think. If I got that I would be looking hopefully at a gain of 31hp and 39lb-ft of torque. If thats the case. Anyone have any opinions? Thanks

Use the search feature, it can be your best friend and save you from catching a lot of crap from people here for reposted info. As for that kind of gains from new exhaust..................:abovelol: GOOD LUCK! Oh yeah, and welcome:D

Yup, search. Lots of people have the EvoFusion catback (and the discontinued KORE one I have that was virtually identical) and like them.
If you get Evofuison to back up it's claims of 20hp and 25 ft-lb of torque gains. Ask them if they'll guarantee it with a refund (and allow you to keep the exhaust). Then you can run your car on a dynomometer before and after installing the exhaust, find out that you gained MAYBE 5 hp or so, and have a free better exhaust setup.
Wow, I'd love to get a 25% WHP and torque and gain with just exhaust modifications!
A search of this site will give you more detail. Welcome.

Yeah, some of their numbers are quoted as being a LOT higher than reality.
Exhaust alone might get you 7-8 whp, header perhaps 11 or so, but no way it will get you that much.

First off, welcome. Secondly, any type of exhaust on a Elantra will not yeild 25% increase in power. You would be better off with a custom 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 with your flavor of muffler. I personally don't like the Evofusion exhaust, they sound like ****.

my evofusion sounded great until i added the header. then it was terrible. it was quicker though.
also, im not looking at the site, but does it say 20hp to the wheels? i know its not going to matter, because no one is going to dyno the engine any other way, but im sure thats one way they'll try to weasle out of it

Just search the naturally aspirated section of this forum and you can read about pretty much any muffler out there for the XD. A lot of guys have even posted part numbers and sound clips.

I have to agree. Just pick a tasty muffler of your choice, and have a local shop put it on.

let me just stop you here.
LOUD does not = fast
LOUD = annoying. not just to others, but trust me, you will hate it in car
what you need to find is an exhaust that sounds deep and throaty, but not something you can hear coming down the street from a mile away. something i would love to have my xd sound like...a g35.

Yeah, I'm in similar shape. Sounded decent, and than I got the little header that seems to have gotten around...lol. But it is much quicker with it than without.

ha. you mean my old header, right. ****ing whore...jumping from car to car
but seriously, thats the best header you can get. be lucky you got it. if i was going to be modding my car out for performance again, id probably already offered you a good price for it, simply for the fact its the only one that i know who has it.

Yeah, I think I'm what, owner #7 or something?
Come September, I'm going to be buying a welder and some flanges and separating it from the Cat, and rewelding a flange back to the end of the Header. From there, Either Hi flow Cat, Test pipe, or possibly an electric exhaust cutout if I can find one cheap enough.
