Well I finally did some painting... I painted my grill, and my license plate cover in the front

and I painted my emblem and license cover in the back... I also finally debadged it... I always liked having them on... to show it was an elantra... but it does look so much cleaner without them...

and no... I have not tinted my tails YET.... I will be gettin the vinyl soon... I think I'm finally CHROME FREE... Yea... it feels good... except the keyholes and I'll let those slide...

Ohh and at this very moment, I'm photoshopping to see what it would look like if I flat blacked my door handles and gas tank lid, due to the fact I took off the black vinyl around the windows... the side is screamin for some black...

Hmm... not sure if I'm a fan of the black on the front or not.

Looks very good. I like the contrast between the silver of the car and the black paintwork.
And I like the clean, debadged look!

I think it looks nice ... if you can, you should do your front emblem to match the rear.

I do like the front grill, and the emblem out back.

However, due to the theme you are going with on your ride, I have another suggestion for you. When money, and time allow, invest in the RoadRuns grill. It think it will really smooth things over, and tie in the black and silver them you've got going.

Your grill looks great as is though, so not to worry. Another idea for regarding the front emblem. Remove it, lay down some black vinyl under it, paint the emblem silver, and put it back on. I think that would look really great on it. Do a photochop and post it up and see.

I really like your idea with the grill... but the whole thing, is gettin that thing out of there... If I could do that, I'd just paint it black to match the back... but I do like your Idea...

Not too up for payin that much money for a grill... even though I do like the roadruns... i have my thing I'm wanting to do.. just lookin for the materials... something like Saturn is doing... I like his idea...

I know it's a pain in the arse to get that emblem out of there, but it IS Sunday, so you could do it all in about an hour or so.

Use a hairdryer to heat up the emblem and use a small, thin, flat head screw driver to carefully pry it out. Use a wash cloth under the screwdriver wear it would touch the outside ring where you've painted it, so you don't have to redo that section.

I'm not suggesting that you go right out and do it now though. Just an idea and a method for you.

Another thing you can do is go to the graphics place at the mall, or whereever. Get them to print off a reverse of the emblem design in black vinyl. You'll have to measure your logo so then print out the right size. All that would be cut out on the vinyl would be the spaces between the emblem. Then you can just put the vinyl in their places on the grill, and voila, you now have black behind the emblem.

damn... thats a pretty good idea... We'll see.. I'm still debating on having the two emblems different colors... You don't think that'd look tacky? And maybe I should heat it up... didn't try that for the back, and messed up my car and the emblem a lil.. thats why I just said f it...

Oh yes, the hairdryer thing works. Just be prepared for some very hot chromed plastic.

And no, I don't think it will look tacky with black behind the emblem, but with the emblem chrome, instead of silver, then maybe it would. You've done a great job so far in photochopping, why not give it a shot with the grill too:D

Yeah they do. I really like the black emblem, it certainly goes with the rear one, very well. And it's a subtle touch too. That's probably the route to go then.

Only because the back is black. I really like the black behind the emblem look but i'm a bigger fan of matching items.
