So the fiancee finally got her own XD, she wanted a white one 5 speed really bad and we found one used at a Ford dealership.
Hooked up a Sony deck to it, plays very nice in comparison to my Alpine unit.
$140 CAD
Bought a used , actually only 2 days old , Rockford Fosgate P2 12 inch sub and box for $100 CAD, these subs go for $120 - $150 USD... sweet deal I must say.. :)
And running off her brother's Alpine V12 amp... The stereo system sure kicks butt now. the original Hyundai deck just didnt cut it. I think its in the car trunk now collecting dust... grin
Hooked up her HIDs today. Used a D2S set up from an Infiniti G35. Made my own glare shields similar to the homemade ones on here. I used a pop can instead. Very bendable aluminum. Worked well, gonna go see how it looks like at night tonight.
Check out the pics! More to come too

^ Not quite. It would seem the modding already began the moment it arrived in the driveway.
Great work. I really like White XDs. BTW, clean the bugs off the front bumper. Though in some cases they yield another 20hp, I can't say for sure in this particular case.:D

hahah...thats what we wanted, something that hasnt been touched yet.
And as for the bugs, we bought it out of town and havent had the chance to wash her up, been all over the place looking for a cd player she likes and subs and amps..etc..
While I was installing her stereo system last night, she fully detailed my car, all of it..the whole nine yards..so my car is now all spiffy looking... heh
Over the next few months or days :) , gonna get:
KDM chrome headlights
clear sidemarkers
HIDs - done
strut bar
rear sway bar
chrome pedals
chrome door handles
BROS kdm white faced gauges
Change window switches LEDs ( maybe )
Custom stainless steel door sills ( c/o :) ME :) )
Short ram intake - done
Chrome exhaust tip (ebay)
Sedan GT spoiler ( like Swortham's old car )
Cant think of anything else now .. oh yea, might put Spec V rims on, just like mine but she's always changing her mind...heh

very nice car
regarding the window switch led's good luck.. i did mine and all of them except the driver side door doesnt work i still havent figured out why :(
playboyz28
07-01-2007, 09:48 PM
I found that sometimes the LED is too tall and when you press on the switch, it shorts out or grounds out and the LED will shut off for that period of time.
As for the window switches, she's not sure if she wants it all red or just leave the green alone for now.
the cd deck plays in green and she loves it. So it might just save me some time and effort to change the whole interior to red...

Gotta love when your a little stumped on the next mod for yourself and a friend/ significant other gets a new toy and wants your help on modding it. It's like a breath of fresh air (and much easier the second time around). Nice ride. Have fun w/ it:D

I got pictures of how the shield results look like compared to my car.
We placed her car with mine and you can definately tell the glare shields work!..

Hahahahah!!..she found that quite funny too..
She's thinking of putting the Avante XD on her car, anyone got a set to sell?
She likes her chrome so we're probably going to put the chrome rear trunk lid and chrome headlights and get a different grill.

I think she's going to go with the green interior theme. Anyone else gone the green theme route?

I know you got that SRI for pretty cheap, but one word of caution, it's too SMALL. That looks less than 2.5" round. You need a minimum of 2.5", but preferable the 2.75" size for breathability. Just a suggestion I guess.
Car is coming along very well for only owning it for a couple of days. And like it has been said before, it's always easier to mod an XD/XD2 the second time around. I know this (this is my third one), and so does evan, now that he's back in an XD.
oh no!!!!!!!! not green!!!!!!! go black only way to go with a white car
i duno about green.. maybe if dont right, but hmmmm duno if im a fan of the idea
as for the newest pics, awesome!
everything looks good :D
-not a fan of the punch series woofers but thats just me :P
nice amp though

As far as chrome goes, I think I saw some chrome "B" pillar covers on Ebay for the Elantra XD1/2.
I believe you can get chrome mirror housing covers, too.
You can probably get chrome fender surrounds, too.
I'm not much for chrome myself, but if you and she like it, more power to you!

Thanks for the comments guys!
The intake sounds a little quieter than mine but she likes it.
As for chrome, not too much on the outside, might be over kill.

LOL....gotta love the white XDs!!!
Yeah I agree that the bug juice is going to effect the hp...something w/the down force on time of impact.

Your fiancee is hot, very nice.
We need an EXD model, you know. ;)

Thanks guys!...yes she is hot..she's my sweetie.. :)
Anyways, she's had it for about a week now...ahem..she asked for all those mods..well, just the cd player, amp and sub.
And the HIDs and the intake.
I'm doing a clutch job on her car now..just waiting to have the flywheel resurfaced and then put it all back together.
EXD model eh?...whats all involved..:)

Ok so your 2nd set of pics was posted up 2 days after she got the car and there are still bugs all over it...whats going on?
HIDs look good, a green theme on the inside is a little risky but will look good...is the interior beige?
playboyz28
07-08-2007, 09:36 PM
Meh, we cleaned off the bugs..pictures coming soon.. :)
Put a clutch in the car yesterday..got the flywheel turned..not a bad bad job..but sure takes some time.
But definately saved money doing it all myself. Its a 6 hour job roughly and at 90 dollars an hour for shoprate, definately saves money!
The clutch was worn down to its rivets, but not scraping the flywheel yet, very very close tho!
And I put on my Tiburon wheels that I use for the winter. Definately looks better than the stock wheels..what do you guys think?
And any suggestions on a set of 17 inch rims? How would they look on a white car? Photoshop anyone???
As for the bikini and the hood thing, have to see about what she says :)

Yes the interior is beige..she likes the green..but she still wants the KDM Bros white faced gauges.
Still humming and hoeing about the green theme..but for now, its great the way it is.

Man, that clutch was getting CLOSE!!! Good thing you got to it when you did. As for wheels, I think you have pretty good taste in that area.
playboyz28
07-15-2007, 11:37 AM
Yea I know. The clutch was slipping bad towards the end..but amazingly enough, it was very driveable!
Those are my old winter rims, she's just using it for some kind of rims. She wants some 17 inch ACE rims..trying to find a distributor that will sell in Canada..dont wanna pay for duty and brokerage fees crap..grrr...

Good luck on that one. I am sure you can find something around there though. BTW, what kind of wheels do you have on your car?
playboyz28
07-17-2007, 02:19 AM
My wheels on my black elantra are Nissan sentra Spec V rims.
So at some member's request :) My fiancee said she would model for you all with her car and mine too.
And remember now, what posts on the forum, stays on the forum. This forum is for us all and these pics are for you all. So keep them on here eh?.. :)
Took us forver to clean the cars after travelling 20 mins on gravel roads!
