If i bought a flashed ECU from SFR, when that comes in, assuming a gain any HP, i am still unable to tune right?
so instead of flashing the ECU, is it better to just buy a NEO?

It depends on what you mean by "Tune"...
You can still put aftermarket Cat Back, Headers, CAI, etc. on the car. They'll still give you gains. That's about all you can do without fooling around with timing, etc. anyway.
To truely tune your engine (fuel to air ratios, etc), you'll need something like an SMT-6 aftermarket adjustable / tuneable controller / engine management system.

the ecu they will send you is exactly like a korean OEM ecu except different parameters inside. You can still hook a neo or smt or emanage up to it and get a more "exact" tune. All that ecu will do is probably get you closer to your "perfect" tune WITHOUT a piggyback (and probably advance spark timing a little bit to develop higher HP. i hope you are planning on using midgrade or premium gasoline?)

Don't they ask you if you want a 91 or 93 grade flash?

dont waste you time i have a sfr ecu and it is good but they still have the problem with it only reving passed 6500rpms for like ten minutes then it start to cut off at 5500 rpms. I asked them how i can fix this problem they told me that our cars have a different speed sensor and that all i have to do is cut the speed sensor wire. I have ask many time which sensor speed ( the one at the tranny or the one at wheel and they wont respond. i ask if they could get me the speed sensor they use over there no answer. It also took over two months to receive it. Dont get me wrong i do like the ecu after i reset it, for about 10 mins. I race me friend rsx type s from a 20 mph roll. 2 gear we where door to door 3 gear i started to pull on him then he back off

Um...what?

some of the SFR ecus have an inherent problem where they'll rev past 6500 rpms for a little bit but then it'll act like its speed sensor isn't working correctly (the one down on the passenger side) and won't rev past 5500rpms.
good enough munky? hah

Someone should check out the Seoulful Racing ecu. I remember someone on here bought one, but returned it before it could be tested.

i just got mine like a month ago and What i mean is that you have to reset the ecu if you what the ecu to do what you pay for. After you reset the ecu it only last for about 10 mins then it will only let you rev the car to 5500rpms

Piggyback is the only viable "tune", but your naturally aspirated, don't waste your money.

so basicly the only way to dyno tune the car is with a piggyback. Anyone know if the Neo can be dyno tuned or just street tuned.
on a side note, my buddy with the 2005 Honda Civic SI had his ecu flashed. he dynoed at 156 whp (header, catback, Intake) before the flash. after they sent his ecu to Hondata, he dynoed 183whp.
i wish our gains were like that.

oh yeah. big congrats to him. 183whp and probably 120wtq. *heavy sarcasm*
edit: you don't actually send your computer away for hondata if i remember right. you buy it then you take it to a place authorized with hondata reflash programming and they'll flash it for you. been awhile since i read up on it so i am probably wrong.

^ Unless the tuner isn't authorized to reflash. Then you have to send the ECU out.
Those gains aren't really that impressive, because where that power is, it's in the worst possible spot for the 2.0L i-Vtec. The better ECU would have been the full replacement from Hondata, but that's at least 4 times as much money.
NY, the NEO can be tuned whereever you want to tune it, street, strip, or dyno. Dyno tuning is expensive, so I've just done it on the street. And for the limited mods you have, the NEO is definitely the way to go. And if you go boost, you can keep it for a little while until you are ready to upgrade to an SMT-6.
And if your plans are to be boosted sooner, rather than later, then just get an SMT-6 now, and you'll be better off.

yea he had it sent to Hondata and installed at No Limit. they had it ripped out, sent out, flashed and installed again in 3 days
