I downloaded this, but can't find how to search for things. I've gone through a lot of other pages but can't figure it out.

I work with SketchUp, very user friendly and very easy to understand (even for non-CAD users)
www.sketchup.com
not very expensive either compared to other big players in that field (Autodesk, etc.)

Hope this helps

Download bittorrent, then go to SuprNova.org (http://www.suprnova.org) to search for stuff.

I says it's downloading, but it's not.

I am a CAD user, and am advanced with AutoCAD and Solidworks. I want a program that will produce 3d vizulizations froma floor plan so that I can show my Fiance' what I'm thinking when I show her a design.

you have to wait most of the time for the file to begin downloading, because it has to search for seeds. You have to wait even longer if ti is an older file that everyone has quit uploading. Another option would be to D/L Emule Plus (http://emuleplus.sourceforge.net/) then go to Shareconnector (http://www.shareconnector.com) to search for files. In your case this may be a faster alternative.

nogo on shareconnector.com, have 114 hours left on BT. I guess I'll get to use it next week.

I've been suppose to keep my eye open for these as well, a friend of mine is a contractor and he wants a design program that I once saw, but can't remember the name of, you'd specify wall type from a drop-down list and then the length and it would draw all the bits and pieces to fill that length. When you were all done your design, you'd press the 3D button and it would show the whole house as a 3D model. plus output the complete list of materials and quantities. So much faster than drawing it all in AutoCAD. jameswing, you're a CAD guy too? That's cool, I was an AutoDESK Certified Professional back in R14, currently I'm working with a civil engineering group, doing municipal services using LDD and 2000i, we are just about to get AutoCAD 2005 and the latest version of LDD.

This program can do all of that. I had used softdesk and Architectural desktop back when they cam out with r14-2000. My focus has been mostly mechanical, but I have worked for a few civil firms in my time.

If I can get it I'll get you a copy.
