Hey guys, so I am going to get my Road Runs grill and eyelines painted this week, and I am wondering how much you guys think it should cost. I called one shop and they said around $100 plus taxes. I'll probably call some other shops too, but I was just wondering what you guys thought. I want to see if they will paint the chrome lip on the hood too, but we will have to see what they will charge. Also, does the lip come off. I tried searching to see if it would come off and I think I read that it does cause someone was having problems with the bolts on theirs. I would prefer if I could leave the 4 pieces there ( 2 eyeline, grill, and lip) and take the car as its the houses only car. Anywho, just thought I would check to see what you guys thought. Thanks

Yes, the upper grill piece should come off the hood. Leaving those pieces with them is a good idea. Just make sure they either paint match the colors while you are there or they are using OEM paint.

As for the $100 quote, that doesn't seem too bad to me. Others will probably say otherwise. As long as they do quality work I wouldn't mind.

Are you gonna put the sticker on the grill after you paint it?

I'd paint all that myself...

yeah, im putting the emblem on after its done. and as for doing it myself, I don't have the know how, paint, or anything else that would be required. Besides, I would rather get someone that knows what they are doing when it comes to that.

i wouldnt try to paint a part thats so close to the body, and the contrast can be seen...check out andy's grille (soulesselantra) and youll see what i mean

100$ isnt bad at all.

Sounds reasonable. What color is your car? The RR is going to match the car, right?

the car is that deep metallic red. I am going to match the grill and chrom lip to the car, and paint the mesh flat black. I can't wait to get it painted and on so I can go take some pics

Sounds good. Personally, I did mine in black because I like the contrast against the silver but the red rim could work for yours. Good luck man.

+1 here... I have to say that 100 bucks is not bad at all. I am fortunate enough to know quite a few people in body shops around here, so they painted mine for a six pack, but that still isn't bad if it's done right.

ok, so I just got back from the painters. They are gonna charge me a little bit more because I am getting them to pant the chrome lip aswell. They want to sand blast the chrome lip and the eyelines ( they come painted, you have to choose a color, none match my car) so that they can do a really good job. They are going to do it for under $150, which I think is still pretty good, and since I just got my $90 gst cheque, I didn't really care. SO now I am driving around with my chrome lip off. Looks a little funny, but it will be worth it. I will post pics when I get them installed. I can't wait.
