So I am almost due for my 30k service. I hate the dealer, never go there, I was gonna just take it to my local shop. So I was sitting at a stop light with 29,666 miles (no joke) and the cel popped on. Nothing seems wrong, but now I HAVE to take it to the dealer, and I can already hear it, "oh its the oil from your K&N on the MAS" or "Those platinum plugs are not hyundia OEM parts, so were not going to cover it, $1,500,000 and will fix it" Ya, I know I am being pesimistic, but after the last 5 visits to the dealer to fix stupid little things that they still screw up, why would I think anything else?? AAAAAAHHHHH!! Just run right, maybe I'll just take the dash apart and paint the cel black :)

Call your local auto chain store (Autozone, Napa, that kind of store) and see if they've got a code reader. They should be able to tell you what the code is and probably reset it, too.
If you reset it, then you can see if it comes back.

you need to find out what number is...then we can look it up and tell you what could possibly be wrong...

Unfortunatly the closets place that does free reading is the next town over, 1.5hr round trip, I am thinking of pulling the ecu fuse and seeing if it comes back.

Or......you could purchase a code reader for $25 shipped off of ebay. Good to have around.

I forgot to mention that I was almost completly out of gas. I think it triedt to stall a little when I stopped at the light. Anyway, filled up, pulled the ecu and it hasn't come back. Good thing I let my self get all worked up and ready to fight some service manager.
