I bought some paint to paint my drums gloss black and the piece that i've been playing with has 3 coats and is not a gloss at all.Is there a hi-temp clear that I can spray to make them pop out and look real nice instead of a dull black. The paint i'm using is the VHT rotor, cal, drum paint.Do you guys think I should primer the drums first then paint or just paint.

Primer will help the paint shine more. Also, there is some clear out there made for engines that would work. I don't know who makes it, but a friend of mine uses it on his intake manifolds, and it holds up just fine.

VHT also makes the clear. You should have started with a dark base coat, like 04 Elantra CVVT suggested. That will help. I believe the VHT clear has to be ordered on line, as I've yet to see it in the stores here locally.
