Ok, Here in Quebec we have a local tuning magazine called Quebec Tuning, in this month edition (well august) they talked about Hyundai Canada starting to distribute performance parts, called HPP or Hyundai Performace Parts.

It's Hyundai Canada's initiative so neither Hyundai USA or Hyundai Motors are not involved, meaning we, Canadians, will be able to buy HPP through a catalog, before or after we bought a car, those parts will be installed and garantied by the dealer ...

In those parts there will be a Supercharger ... YES, a S/C bough, installed and garantied at the dealer! It was supposed to be here in mid-july but I think it's an error, so I don't know when it'll be here but I hope it'll be soon enough! :D

Now here is the 4 pages article (IN FRENCH!) ... I wanted to translate it but I really don't have the time, so if a fellow french speaking canadian could translate that it would be cool! :D

Article title : The Koreans Strike Back!

http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/4168/hpp04vs9.th.jpg (http://img508.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hpp04vs9.jpg)

I know it's pictures (I don't have a scanner) but it's better than nothing!

EDIT : forgot to mention, those SC looks a LOT to be the NGM SC kits ... any thoughts or infos on that???

Darn, you Canucks get a lot more cool stuff than we do down here! Hmm, Toronto's not too far away for me. Now if only Hyundai USA would follow suit!

I'd like to see how far this goes and how long it lasts.

Did it mention anything in particular for the HD or the Beta motor?

They mentioned that a SC was in R&D for the Beta engine, the parts will also be available for the HD as you will be able to buy "HPP parts" when buying the car itself (the parts will be on the car when you'll take it).

They also assossiated themselves with Fast Wheels (a local wheel company) so that you can browse the entire Fast Wheels catalog when choosing wheels.

^^ this is sweet I would definetly like to buy that accent sr with the body kit and rims on it. or even a supercharged hd. I hope this all comes true and becomes popular enough to come to the states.

So does that mean NGM will be supplying the SC for HPP?

Yes, the picture of the blower you see IS THE NGM KIT rebadged with HPP lol.... Can't miss the shiny intake :)

That also means that the upcoming beta kit will be avail through dealers :)

If it's like 6k for a dealer-installed blower setup key in hand, I'd be in fo sho! Sucks I don't care about my warranty though lol.

But if I ever bought a v6 tibby I would do it for sure.

Well seeing as the program has already failed in the states (HARD), I don't think hyundaiUSA will entertain the idea.

Unless of course they see how well it works and become jealous ;)

That is pretty sweet. And I too may some day be in Canada as I seem to keep moving farther north.

Seguin22, many might argue this, but you may be 2 hours away from Canda, but you are many more hours away from the best part of Canada, and that's where Kewlkat and jalmir stay at.

What I'm saying is Quebec has a lot of Hyundai people in it, you two happen to be the only ones in this thread. And Quebec ain't near Minnesota.

wonder what hyundai is using for engine management...factory tuned ecu would be nice. Of course, maybe ngm will have access to it and sell it in the states if that is the case. I couldn't see hyundai installing a seperat unit...but what do i know about it.

One of my friend work at a Hyundai dealer and apparently they received a new ECU management unit ...

Details, details details...could this be the dawn of a new age for Hyundai own ers?

jalmir

well that's the problem, they don't have any infos on that unit, the unit is a MBP and they use it to "flash" the ECU when they receive ROM corrections from Hyundai motors ...

on my day lurking newtib today I found a couple of threads by gamz who attended a Hyundai performance parts focus group

the thread from gamz is a good one, I read it on another forum that he belongs to, it's worth the read for sure.

According to Gamz, T.C. from NGM told him they are trying to honor a commitment to get the SC kit to Hyundai Canada for load testing by the end of this year, it's a loose commitment from a timeline perspective but at least it's something and right from the horse's mouth too.
