looking to make my car louder

well my exhuast at the moment is a removed resornator and a cherrybomb turbo muffler. It sounds awsome but its too quiet and i want it louder. so any suggestions?

You would have to go with a different muffler setup. Actually depending on Cherry Bomb's quality that fiberglass packing should wear away so it will be louder later on down the road. But if you want something louder. Go with something like a Apexi N1. Nice deep tone and they sound good the only problem is prepared for ricer comments.

get some EvoFusion 4-2-1 headers, then get the rest of your exhaust pipe size 2.25" and your choice of muffler ( i have a OBX H7 muffler) and thats going to be loud1 and sound good. and no it wont sound like a weedeater or such.

agreed on the header and pipes. see if you can get mandrel bends for optimal flow. It will be VERY loud though.

Well if thats all you are looking for then get that muffler that you were calling rice, I had it on my XD and it sounded good, I would upgrade the piping on the exhaust as well at the same time, even if its a 2.25" crush bend with an 18" resonator you will notice a huge difference.

That Cherry Bomb muffler cost me $30 at CDN Tire, just get a nice downward tip a the same time so you dont scorch your bumper.

I have a 4-2-1 header (not evofusion) and w/o the resonator it sounded horrendous (full 2.25" piping and single cat). Very much like a weed whacker, and buzzed alot. Still sounds like a small household appliance, but doesn't buzz as much.

please just go for a NICE sound and don't worry about the loudness of it. I had the EF header and the catback as well with a high-flow cat and a silencer, i loved the way it sounded but at times it was too loud.

Your never going to get the sound of a Mustang. I would suggest a 2.25 inch catback with a nice muffler like a Magnaflow or Flowmaster.

You're probably not the only one being real about this then.

Loud exhaust for the sake of being loud is rice and nothing more. If it were a high performance exhaust (attached to a high performance engine - which very few North American Hyundai's have), and loudness was a side-effect, that's fine - it's loud because it does something. Just being "look at me loud" is teh suck.

now i do know that a header will get me what i want but at the moment i dont have enough cash for a good quality one. i was thinking of somehow making it a LITTLE louder for now till i have the money. the reason i want it louder is that i cant hear it becusae my sound system is to loud. and dont tell me to turn it down since theres nothing better then blasting metallica in a little hyundai

get a cutout exhaust. They are a bit of a pain to put in, cause you gotta configure the pull wires all over the place, but when you get it all GQ, its great cause you can turn the loud to the max when you want, and tell your car to stfu when you want too. (when the Police are around)

loud music = louder exhaust = louder speakers = louder exhaust.

i believe this goes against most modern and common logic. when i cant hear my exhaust guess what happens: the music gets turned down. then again, there is no possible way for Metallica to be cool in a Hyundai, no matter how awesome Metallica is.

I have the evofusion cat back and thats it. At least for now. And I think it is loud. But not over the top. I had a Gibson exhaust and a bunch of performance stuff on my dakota and it drove me crazy. Way to loud! I think that anyone wanting something louder than the evofusion cat back is nuts. I just got back from SC. It was 500 miles each way and the exhaust was noticable but not bothersome. Unlike my dakota. In the dakota I had to have the radio up load to hide the dronning of the exhaust. I had a headache the whole way. Just be careful what you wish for. You may get it.

My buddy has a built 5.0 its got a great low throaty rumble...but ive heard it with no pipes at all and then it sounds so terrible. Even a straight pips sounds a little off to me, perhaps a stock one would be nicer.

351W are the same. Open headers= Chitty sound. Add in an H-pipe with Flows=amazing sound. Only morons and ricers run around with stock cars and open headers. Doing so kills slow speed torque and offers little to no gain on the top end.

Don't forget to save up some money for the tickets and fines you'll be paying for not having a single cat on your car.

And BTW, did you even upgrade the piping for your exhaust, or did you just weld on the muffler? See, I could probably find the answer in one of the other many threads you've started on this particular subject, but I have a right to be lazy since you seem to think it's okay for you to be lazy.

If you have stock piping, increase the size to 2.25" like it's been detailed in 50 other threads. And if it's too hard for you to do, then fugedaboutit!

Yes of course Canada has emissions testing...though depending on your postal code you may or may now have to get it tested. I know I dont but an hour to the east in Ottawa they have to.

Mustangs sound nice esp the Saleen convert in my neighborhood. :tongue:
Will and elantra ever sound like a mustang? No But i'm sure it could sound similar to the nice sound that eminates from the 07 WRX hatch in my neighborhood.

Most of the exhausts sold for our cars is 2.25(EF) to 2.5(ARK)

F*** emissions testing. im surprised california (san diego in particular) doesnt require us to have a minimum of 4 cats. needing to have two limits my options of headers (to almost none, basically) or turbos. this makes me sad. :(
