If you have ever seen the cartoon along with the original transformers movie it both sucked and blowed! There was little or no identity put to the transformers themselves. Optimus Prime was like a retarded monkey in the fact that he acted nothing like Optimus of any old time (original, beast wars, etc) You never really get to see scorpinok. Megatron kicked everybodys ***, yet Optimus prime still manages to win. The first 1/2 hr you don't even get to see a transformer. Transformers was always about personality in a robot, not a robot that can talk. If you people really liked this one, I'd venture to say that it's been a while since you have seen the original transformers.

I disagree, I watched the old movie the week before the new one came out, and the new one was definately a kick *** movie. Especially considering how many remakes suck the big one these days, I was very impressed at the new transformers movie.
Yes, Optimus Prime doesn't fight as well as Megatron, but you do realize that the greatest part of the Autobots personality is that they won't harm humans. This showed more than ever in Optimus' fight with Megatron, where Megatron didn't care about who he was hurting in the process, and Optimus was making sure not to hurt any humans in the process of trying to kick Megatron's ***.
the only thing that disappointed me was the lack of the transformers actual theme song. The Linkin Park song was pretty good, but still nowhere near what it would have been if they actually did the proper theme song.

I think it's pretty cool they used the original voice of Optimus Prime, Peter Cullen.
I just recently found out he also does the voice for Eeyore, too.

The movie rocked. One of the best CGI effects to date. Well worth it. And if you can get in to see it on one of the special DLP screens or what ever they are called, do it. Much better than the normal screen.

There was only ONE funny part in knocked up:

It was a pretty good movie. Cheesy at times, but pretty good. Still not ousting 300 for movie of the year.
Whats cool is how they set it up for a sequel. That scorpion creature is never found, StarScream escapes into outer space, and that Saleen Mustang is still out there.
The only thing I wondered, was why were the Autobots all "sucky" machines (land vehicles) in comparison to the Decepticons (chopper, jets, space craft). And why did they kill Jazz? He got torn apart like it was nothing. I always figured him as the black autobot lol jk.
I was kinda hoping that Prime would take the all spark, and turn into some super Autobot, and woop megatrons ***. lol

who here has seen the old 80s cartoon transformers movie?
anyone who used to watch the cartoon show or movie knows thats just how things are. The decepticons have always been the tanks, jets, and otherwise terrifying vehicles while the autobots chose the stealthy vehicles.

I had the exact same thoughts. Jazz was freikin awesome. His first like was "Sup *****es". I mean, how much better does it get!! And all the autobots were gay cars basically... I know that's how it is in the original, but still....

the movie is awesome! I'm going to say: It's the best film I've seen in theatres long time ago! From the beginne to the end action and fun. It's never one second boring.

Finally got out to see this over the weekend. I think there might have been robots in it, I'm not sure. They could have just put Megan Fox on the screen for 2 hours, and I would have to say it was a great movie!
It was slightly cheezy, but I don't know how you make a movie about giant talking robots and not have it be slightly cheezy? The robot that turned into the boombox (modern rendition of soundwave?) was slightly too jar-jar binks like for me, but they had to do something to entertain the younger generation that grew up without Transformers. Effects were awesome, my favorite was the A-10 & AC-130 bombardment.
I too was disappointed they killed Jazz. Also, I don't know if I spaced out for a second, or blinked, or what - but what happened to Starscream? Last I remember he was in a dogfight with a squadron of F-22s?

If you stayed through the credits, it shows him escaping into outer space.
The only other decepticons to survive were the Saleen Mustang, and the scorpion creature.
