where's the best place ?

I wanna finally hook my mp3 player to the aux output on the back of my headunit. I would really like to mount it beside the headunit on the dash or fab up some kinda pocket tray down by my shifter. Is there easy access to these areas to run wires i've only had my dash out once to install the headunit and paint the plastic. the center console tray thing has never been removed but i'm willing to try anything atleast once. Can i expect the same quality sound reproduction with the aux. as opposed to the cd player i know the sound from mp3 format is slightly degraded. but i guess if it sounds like crap i'll take it out.

now, i just have the RCA cables from the back of the head unit and comes out the ashtray and i set my ipod on my lap or in the center console

that is awesome!!! the video doesn't work but the pics are very helpful. I think my mp3 player will fit in my ashtray anyways it's pretty small. That will also give me extra incentive to quit smoking. I don't smoke in my home and ii don't smoke in the car when the kids are along so now I can just cut out one more place i'm not allowed to smoke this will be awesome. I will post up some pics as soon as i do this.

I quit in January and have since put an extra $1,400 away because of it. You feel better and keep your pockets fatter:D As for the mp3, aux hookup is the way to go for the best sound you can get out of it. You'd be surprised how good it can actually sound through your car stereo.

Really $1400 in only 8 months? Thats it I quit right now. Iv'e cut back alot I had 1 smoke today after dinner.

^^It was the end of January!! I was at almost 2 packs a day at work! Days off and drinking time got down right ugly! Aug. 24 will be 7 months.

Damn congrats on living healthy. I can't wait to be able to breathe again i get winded playing with the kids. Plus i wanna live long enough to see their kids
