Guage Cluster Swap Question

This may be a bit of a noob question, but I was wondering what kind of cluster I might be able to swap into my 04 GLS (manual trans)... The current cluster looks pretty "economy car" and I'd love to have a nicer setup.

Anyway, I love this site and I'm just getting into freshening up the interior of my Elantra. Thanks in advance for the help.

There isn't any you can swap from another Elantra or other car, but, you can get some full replacements.

Yep... you can mod it but there's no swap. Last time we checked you couldn't even swap in an XD1 GT gauge cluster (blue) for the XD1 GLS cluster because the wiring is different.

Theres a thread somewhere about changing the lighting of the cluster, which seems to help dramatically. Search the interior section, as I'll be posting some more info there soon.

This looks really good, but they don't offer one for the GLS. That is the GT only, and when I tried to contact them, they never replied.

Yes,, the XD1 GLS has a different connector for the cluster, I have succesfully installed a XD1 GT cluster in my 2002 GLS in the hard way. I buy a GT cluster with the electric connectors and hardwire to the GLS wires, it's not that difficult but time consuming work. The result is amazing,, (blue/purple) led color and nicer look than normal GLS cluster. Maybe I am the first one to do this maybe not but it really nice looking cluster.
Hopefully the same thing could be done for XD2 clusters!!

Someone should offer a digital cluster for these cars. There's enough of them out there and "boring interior" seems to be the biggest complaint.

No... please don't go digital. That is cool for a car from the 80's and all, but not a new car.
