So my girlfriend and I were headed out to the local movie theater this afternoon. We we driving down the street to cross the train tracks before getting to a stop light where we were to turn left.
This maroon Volvo stopped for no reason at the tracks and I changed lanes to go around her and sat at the red light waiting to turn left. The light went green and the car in front of me went through the light making his left turn and the lady went through the light straight as I started into the intersection too.
Out of freaking nowhere this stupid biotch in her Sentra came blazing through the light (she had a red light for about 3 seconds prior to her speeding through it) and slammed the Volvo in the front drivers' quarter panel. The Volvo went 90 degrees to the right into oncomming traffic (thankfully no cars were there) and the Sentra went into this couples front yard over the curb and such. It finally stopped on the sidewalk.
So my g/f and I go through the intersection, I park hurriedly, put on the 4 ways. I jump out, the chick in the Sentra is stumbling out of her now totaled Sentra and I run over to the Volvo. The woman was starting to get out and calling to her daughter who was in the back seat to get out. Both were shaken up and crying but otherwise physically ok.
It's interesting how little attention the girl in the Sentra got from anyone and the attention everyone gave to the occupants of the Volvo.
Police, fire and ambulance came. Reports were taken and we were told we could go. Emergency people took less than 5 minutes to get there.
So we went to the movie, saw Stardust, were driving home and it finally hit us...if I hadn't of gone around the Volvo that was stopped for no reason at the tracks, I would have been in it's place in that intersection. The Sentra also never hit her brakes at all. I estimate she went through the intersection at about 55...in a 40 mph zone.

Why the **** are people always in such a huge hurry to get everywhere?! It's absolutely rediculous and you see it every single day. You know, if you sit at a light after it turns green for more than a half a second, the idiot behind you starts to lay on the horn! These are the people I like to slow down to a crawl for and see how pissed off I can get them.
Glad to hear the woman and child were okay. Too bad it was a Sentra though, lol. I always hope that if i'm to be hit that it's by a big fancy car, but w/ my luck it will be a beat up old chevette or something.

I'm glad that you didn't get hit, and that it sounds like everyone involved in the accident was OK.
I've seen some accidents like that, too, and it's amazing to see how few people (other than my wife and I) stop to help the victims and / or direct traffic around the accident until the cops / paramedics arrive. Thank you for stopping and helping them -- I'm sure they appreciated it, even if they were too shaken at the time to say so.

I hate when people creep up on you at intersections, like their time is so much more important than ours.
When that happens, I throw my car in reverse so they can clearly see the reverse lights and rev my engine like i'm at the NHRA. They get the point.

bdiggy, im the same way as you, but you have to be careful bro. i did that once and this guy came out with a knife. luckily i saw that **** in my sideview and i just happened to have my beretta airsoft gun sitting next to me in the seat (looks like the real chromed beretta m92f w/o painted tip, best $150 ever spent for a green gas gun).
by the time he got up to the window, which was down, i cocked the gun and then looked at him as if i were cleaning the gun. needless to say, he didn't mess with me at teh next intersection and slowed up traffic until i jetted off.

i dont even do that, i just throw the car in neutral and rev the engine and get the same effect

Most of the time I do that, they just think I want to race.
Those reverse lights tell another story. I WILL back into their *** if they don't get off it.

I am liscensed to carry and do own the real thing but could never bring myself to aim it at anyone. You have to be careful w/ people these days. Road rage can deffinitely get the better of some of them, which could lead to disasterous results. On the other hand, i'll continue to be the smartass who does these sort of things to idiot driver's who feel they need to get nowhere fast. It's just in my nature:D

I have no idea why people seem to rush things. I get complaints about having people RUSH me through things. I tend to take it at a slow pace and go at it thoroughly.
I teach in the same way. I want my students to learn something and sometimes that is taking the time to go over the subject in detail. I see the rush throughs when high school kids have not learned basic facts.

My brother had a great one.
I was with him when the guy behind honked when the light changed to green. My brother took off his seatbelt and walked to the car behind and asked if he could help. The guy said that he didn't need any help and my brother apologized and explained that he thought the honking meant that the person was in distress of some sort. :)
Then my brother walked back to our car, got in and put his seatbelt back on. By this time the light had changed to red again :)

Good luck when you try it.
Let me now what happen.
That is crazy, glad your ok and good to hear the other people are also. i hope you told the story strait so that the right people get the blame here.
one of my fears is getting smacked by someone at fault and having 0 witnesses and having the person who hit me say its my fault.. i keep a camera in the car to snap pics just in case, and i would totally snap pics of the plates of other drivers around also heh.

Oh there was no way the story could have been mistold. Trust me. Even if it could, I'm not that type of person. I personally have never been in an accident in my 29 years on this planet (knock on wood). I've seen a couple, but never this closeup. It was wierd when my g/f and I were standing around waiting to have our report taken...I actually felt my body tremble a bit. Maybe I was nervous for the people, maybe my adrenaline was just pumping so much making sure people were ok, I have no idea. But, I was glad I was there to help and more glad nobody was hurt.
Damn thats crazy...
I just had a recent encounter with some jackass and his friend in their BMW...I was coming home from Ross Park Mall on 19 with two of my friends, when out of no where this BMW just starts highbeaming me...so I get pissed off and just start slowing down steadily, and the guy finally goes into the left lane (thats the kicker...I wasn't in the left lane at all, all he had to do was go around) and as he passes by I get more jacked and flip him off.
Well go figure the next light turns, and go figure again we sit right next to them. So they start jeering and ****, while me and my friend in the passenger seat shake our heads and ignore them, and my friend in the back acts like he can't hear them to piss them off more.
Well once the light turns, we go, and I just wave them off like whatever, and so whats the jackass do? Slams his brakes and rides my *** with his highbeams on.
I was soooooo close to have my friend in the back pitch the exhaust mount at thier car...they were so close, that windshield would have shattered beautifully...
