i actually like it. DIY?
only problem i would have is keeping junk out of the cup holders, and keeping water bottles there to light up like that.
cool though. very original

You know I didn't even take pics of the leds and the wiring.... I'll make one and get it all heat shrunk and professional looking and I'll work on a DIY. I'm going on vacation next week so it will have to wait till I get back after labor day.

You could even wire them so they would flash with music (I think through sub wiring).

I must say that it looks pretty good, well done. If they were on a pressure switch though that would be even better, bottle goes in LED comes on.
that looks really good, cant wait to get my scion with factory led cupholders! lol j/k :D

It's like the new Chrysler/dodge cupholders that light up.

hmmm. pretty sweet man. im guessing just running some wires from like the cig lighter light, or something like that and somehow mounting the leds is all it takes?? wires n mounting? yea? idk, but either way. looks way cool man. good job

Looks like powerful LED(s) mounted in the center of the cupholder pointing up by the way the cap is illuminated. Drill, install LED(s), tap into power (in A/T cars there is a source RIGHT THERE for the gear indicator), call it done.

Yeah, that's pretty cool. If it was like Slow said it would be game over.

that looks pretty funky - i like it!
how do you go tho, about condensation running down the side of the bottles when they are cold and collecting in the base of the cupholders?
have you put like a 'false base' in there to keep the moisture out?
if i was keeping my car.. i would do this too.
as said previously - pressure switch for sure!
i always found that the elantra's somewhat lacked center console lighting - at least in the M/T form.

I just took a piece of 1/4in MDF and drilled a couple of holes in it for the leds. Drilled 2 holes in the bottom of the cupholder and a 3rd hole for a small screw to attach the MDF to the bottom of the cupholder. I have been looking around for a pressure switch but haven't found one that I could possibly used. I am looking for one that is almost flat that I can place at the bottom of the cupholder and water resistant. I used a ton of 5-minute epoxy to seal the leads on each led. Believe me when I say the "rig" look really ghetto. I ran the power from the light on the cigarette lighter. The shift know leds run from the ashtray light. I am ordering #74 leds for the ignition ring, ashtray, and lighter. That will almost complete the blue transformation. I am working on getting door handle, front footwell and rear foot well illumination also. The hatch is also an ongoing project. I have NO light back there.
Thanks for the positive feedback.
