This Sunday, near west side at the old Busch Stadium. This is our annual "Aussie Pursuit" were it's a heads up car to car race. No timing, just winner takes all, doubleelimination.
Jason is planning on coming down from Ft Wayne for this. Anyone else?

Thats gonna be fun!
Now im mad, I drove over an hour to the track last night and they closed 15 minutes before I got there because they had an isolated patch of rain right over them....only spot to get rain the whole drive!
Good luck to both of you and have fun torturing your cars!

Well...I completed my first Autocross today.
The "Dog Days Solo" held by the Detroit Region of the SCCA.
Being my first event I was a bit nervous, but one thing is very evident...EVERYONE is helpful, and EVERYONE is there to have fun!
Heck I even I enjoyed my time doing corner work (which was helpful because the corner I worked was the most difficult in many of the competitor's opinions
I was the only Hyundai out there...(SURPRISE...right...)
My best time of the day was a 54.477 (on my 4th of 4 runs). Since I ran in the STS class, I ran against several Imprezas, an ACR Neon, etc...etc...and those cars ran anywhere from 52ish to 48ish in total track time.
Now I am hooked though. Driving home I was thinking "I could probably shave a few more pounds from my car if I removed the backseat and rear door panels" LOL
Next season for sure I will purchase some new tires...because my Yoko AVS ES100's (as mentioned in a previous post) lack the desired amount of grip overall.

Alrighty.. . . event over. Absolute BLAST! If you've never done one, you gotta! It's like running a drag race only you have to turn!
First race was against a 2006 Mustang V6 -spd on VictoRacers. I had him beat by 2 car lengths. . . UNTIL I blew the LAST gate and nailed 2 cones. Gave it to him on a silver platter. . . .
Second race, got beat by one of the my "contenders" for year end points, but he also blew the last gate. He's the one running the 96 Neon Coupe. Fast car. So I got lucky with that win.
Third race, I obliterated a late 90's M3. 3 car lengths after 2 laps. Kid was new, and asked me BEFORE the race to "not embarass me too much". . . .Now THAT'S respect!
4th Race, 06 Mini Cooper S on Hoosier race slicks. He got me by about 2/3 of a car length. I gave it to him. Pushed too hard on the second lap and pushed out wide, front bit and snapped the rear HARD, countersteered, snapped back the otherway (barely making it through the gate) and fought it for a 1/4 lap on the edge of a spin out. We were dead even after the first lap.
After the event was done (3pm!) we did $1 fun runs for about an hour. I put in 5 more races, beat a Caddy CTS twice, Lost to the Lancer by 1/2 a car, Lost to a 350Z run by the leader of our STS class (expert technically) and scared an Exige driver.
Funny story, the Exige and I were running, after the first lap I was ahead by a nose. I don't think he expected me to be very fast. He beat me by two car lengths though. I think I "skeered" him a little. :D

Cool. I don't get how it works. Are there two identical tracks next to each other or one track?

One track. Hour glass shaped. both cars start at the narrow part of the hour glass and make 2 laps aroung, going the same direction. First one back, without hitting a cone wins.
