i know its not in my xd, but rather on my bike. holy hell, was that fun and a very interesting trackday.
murpheys law hit me big time.
-rain the whole drive there (3.5hrs)
-nail in my brand new rear tire (175.00 rear tire)
-210.00 for a new race rear tire
-rain the whole ride back home (3.5hrs_ blew a trailer tire on the way home (1hr down time on the side of the freeway :(
now to the good parts. did 80 miles on a 2 mile track. did 3.5 sessions before the rain hit. did NOT go down or run off the track. this was my 1st trackday, and it went well. i was put in the intermediate class cause they didnt run a novice thatday. was fun anyways, just got passed alot and very close. they had a race that weekend and ppl there were prepping for that race.
since i didnt know the track layout, nor been on a circuit track before, i was SLOW my 1st session. didnt know where the turns were at. but i followed a controll rider for the 1st 3 sessions and was immediately comfortable, so by the last session i went on my own and killed it. hit 168 (5th gear) on the back straight, only to slow down to 40mph (2nd gear to hit turn 1's right sweeper.
i think i may give up riding the street and only ride the track. i have an extra set of wheels coming, so i can do street to track full wheel swaps. i have dediacted track tires and another set strictly for the street. i also just bought a trailer to tow and the xd towed a trailer and bike surprising well.
anyways, enough with the blah blah, and on with the video and pics.
in the video, i have blue tape on my headlights, im on an all black bike, im wearing a red/white helmet and a red/white racing suit. the videos are not too clear and are from a distance, but thats what i get with my 4mp digi camera.

i just signed up for another track day. sept 22 and 23rd. just have to get a few more items. a power race front tire, getting my new trailer (not the one pictured above, that was a buddies) ready to tow bikes, and my knee to get better.
