This is downright funny, not really a flame per se.

I posted the same Supercharger Debacle thread at newtiburon.com, and Import Shark chose to reply. Read the content of his posts if you get a chance.

Keep his attitude in mind if you consider buying anything from Import Shark...

What a dumb thing to do when you're a merchant, to act like such a dick in a forum from which you probably get most of your business!!! (notice, I am not saying that he isa dick or saying he is dumb, just that he is acting, doing and saying stuff that is).

I would appreciate opinions on whether or not I was unreasonable about expecting delivery of the kit wihin a reasonable amount of time (Alpine said a week originally when I asked, Import Shark says 1 to 3 weeks for delivery on their Alpine kit page), and if it was unreasonable for me to expect a refund of my $3,000 within two weeks of requesting it.

I don't think that was unreasonable and none of the people at work I talked to thought it was unreasonable, yet Import Shark thinks it was outrageous.

Please feel free to post your opinions here.

I think it is totally resonable. even though i cant spell!

But, I can not say if anyone (you, alpine, importshark) was in the wrong or stepping over boundries. I dont know what all went on in emails. Odd that old boy went off so fiercely on the first post.

Thanks Code, you are right about not knowing what went on in emails. You'll notice that I didn't post mine or theirs, did I? ItalTib should have responded to the thread topic and not to emailed stuff, as I did.

I wonder if I could have used the word unreasonable a bit more often in the first post...

for some reason, companies like to bull**** when it comes to lead times. I honestly dont know why they just dont cut the **** and find out the actual lead time. SURELY alpine has NEVER shipped a supercharger kit that fast.

thats okay, I left my cylinder head at a high-end engine shop (ENDYN) for over a year and they never touched it. (I told them to port the f*cking thing)

I was going to ask italtib2k3 if he stuck his tampon in the wrong hole....honestly...but knowing that I would be banned for saying that, I refrained.

I like your post in the NT thread Tharptroy.

I'm simply awed (and amused) by italtib's poor representation of himself as a representative of Import Shark on a forum that everyone can read!!!

I made it a point of putting Import Shark and a link to their web page in the first post, so if someone searches on Google for "Import Shark", that will be one of the hits that come up.

Like you said, they lie about lead times. If ANYONE (Import Shark OR Alpine) had told me it would take 12 weeks to get the damn thing, I would not have gotten pissed off. I might not have ordered it, but I wouldn't have become angry. I specifically asked Alpine and they said "ONE week". I guess they meant one week of some year, sometime in the distant future.

You're more than justified, Kyle.
Alpine should never have told you 1 week, ImportShark should never have put 1-3 weeks on their page in the first place.
If they were always polite to you and apologetic and did everything promptly, I wouldn't say this: but sometimes companies like that need to be taught a hard lesson.
Sorry it was a PITA for you and I'm glad you got your $$ back in the end.

As you said, I got my $ back, so I'm good.

The main thing I want to do is keep at least one other person from going blindly into a business transaction with either Import Shark or S. A. Alpine developments. If that happens, I'll be happy.

Hey guys... read the last few posts.

If I read what Mike (Ital Tib) said and did even if I never had to go through that, I sure as he11 wouldn't buy anything from them ever!!!

I love the part where Mike from Import Shark brags "I have an $800,000 house and a Lotus" (and it goes almost without saying, a very small ***).

Obviously Mike is rich and doesn't need any sales through Import Shark. Based on his statements, $3,000 means nothing to him. Obviously he doesn't understand what that amount of money means to the average Hyundai owner.

Tom, the owner of Import Shark can't be bothered to make sure his representatives (Mike) comport themselves in a professional manner. I swear, it's like Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde!!!!

If anyone asks you for good places with good service to buy Hyundai aftermarket parts and asks about Import Shark or S. A. Alpine Developments, feel free to direct them to that thread.

Oh God,you have been banned from buying on their website!?!?
What a bunch of ****.Whats up with the whole people falling apart story?Didn't Alpine get bought out by another company?I know that John is not the only one still working for them,so why couldn't someone else do the ordering and assembling the kit? Atleast you got your money back

Well I dont know what to say really, im glad you got your money back, $3000 is a lot of money to be floating in limbo. Sorry you had a ****ty time with the transaction though, im so happy I got my kit from a 3rd party.

So I guess you are waiting on the NGM project to finish huh?

Watch...he's gonna start whining about the 1-3 week shipping time again. Though I intend to edit that asap, I do make sure to inform customers that the order will take longer than that--which I did in this case as well.

Since I don't really go over to NT is he a mod?

That is pretty messed up. I would have liked to ask Tom who his system admin was, since it would be pretty easy for him to have the sysadmin check the email server for those missing emails they keep saying they responded to in a timely manner.

Oh, yeah, since you said that you would not buy from them again I guess the only sensible thing they can do is ban you from their site - that'll teach you!

On last question, is Importshark and NGM related? Mike stated you would not be able to buy a kit from NGM because they have said so?

That's messed up.... poor service and why didn't TOM look after you if he's the owner?

I love the fact that Tom says his company gives quality service, yet he lets Mike (Ital Tib) rant and rave like a lunatic and talk to people like that while representing Import Shark. I just wanted to tell my story and Mike kept acting that way!!!

I'm good with my money, so the stuff about the last two emails doesn't matter to me, but I'd told Mike that if I had to do a Visa Chargeback that I wouldn't be happy at all. I wasn't happy, so I told the story, and that's all I had to do to make them demonstrate how they really behave, obviously.

The funny thing is that Mike himself did more damage to Import Shark's than my description of what happened ever could!!!

I really think that Mike doesn't exist per-se. I think "Tom" is might actally be schitzophrenic (sp?) and that "Mike" is just his evil half...

Anyway, I'm not a professional car product seller and never claimed to be. I'm a formerly pissed off consumer and that's it.

hum, I'm sure you would be "a formerly pissed off consumer" (as he pointed out) after not getting a 3K product you were told (after asking) you'd have after a few weeks AND the joke in his post was obvious ... well, at least to me! ;)

Anyway, I know I would be extremely pissed!

I still can't understand why many companies cannot underpromise and overdeliver. That's what I do on a daily basis. Customers are happy and everything is smooth.

Which would you rather hear "It'll be there in 2 days. No prob" and then it arrives in 4. Or would you rather hear "It should be there in 4-5 days." and then it arrives in 3-4?

Simple concepts seem to be lost on major companies any more. I guess that's what we get by requiring that all management types be college educated and not listen to the hard workers on the front lines.

Yep, going to college doesn't make you smart or fit for the job. A lot of smart people never go to college.

No kidding. Nowadays, when you have a problem, instead of hearing "what can I do to fix it?" you get "Well, everyone else was happy, why can't you be too?"
