Not seeing that happening! There is always something new to do. It has 125 k miles and I still running on the stock engine with the stock tranny and they have never been opened for repairs nor smoking, overheating, etc, and with a beat up "drive it like u stole it" I don't mind putting a bit of extra cash on it for repairs or tuning.

Matrixloader
09-08-2007, 11:59 PM
heck if your engine ever blows up or tranny goes its always cheaper to get a used low mileage engine or just do a rebuild on either one instead of getting a whole new car. your car is the most unique and best looking XD i have ever seen.

when will you be posting it for car of the month? your car needs to be added to the list, where all waiting.

OK...so youve got all that A/V equipment, $1000's in the interior, and god aweful amount on bodywork/paint....yet youve still got the shattackular front stock speakers and some aftermarket tweeters.......

Dash looks good, panels are well, original... i like the steering wheel, although its a total ripoff of the stock Mk1 mr2 wheel, but you really should have had the rear seats done to match the fronts.

The pattern in the rear seats is the same than on the front seats but the fabric is not available for retail sale not even on KSS Italy which is the company who builds MOMO equipment. I trie hard to find the fabric but wasn't available anywere.

The front speakers along with the tweeters are polk/Momo as u can see n the pics. They are component speakers. The rear are sony xplod 6x9 3 way. The sub is perfect for my taste. Lightweight and a nice deep bass.

Very nice job in the interior man. and I agree with Matrixloader your car needs to be in the car of the month.

Next month it will be. I want the german in the calendar, too. I'm not competing against him.

I have boston acoustics on the front on mine and they also looke similar to stock speakers, the thing with component speakers is that sometimes when they dont have the tweeter in the middle they kinda look stock.

mine are just like these but have have an older version

I know what component speakers are....

they're called coaxial's when the tweeter is mounted in the middle.

Im not 100% what polk momo's look like, but im damn sure they arent shat brown paper coned/paper wizzer tweeter like the ones in those picks. Actually, i think the polk momo's have this carbon fiber weave looking cone.

You are right, they look like carbon fiber. I have them posted in another thread. You won't see the midbass speaker cuz is under the door panel but the tweeter is in there and it says polk/momo.

These are the threads and actually component speakers are a combination of speakers with a crossover, mostly tweeters and midbass or midrange.

Look at the door panel and there it is

the picture you posted with the panel off clearly has a stock speaker in the stock location.. Im just wondering where the midbass is.

mayollo072R
09-09-2007, 02:47 PM
http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f45/mayollo072R/100_0260.jpg

Thats the momo tweeter and, the midbass is were the stock speaker was. I wont remove the panel to show you but just so you know the tweeters wont work without the midbass because they get their signal/power from them. Main signal input to crossover then one pair of cables goes for the tweeter and another pair to the midbass. Just look at the thread of new A/v components installed and you will see them.

Also that is not their final location they will be on top of the panel with a small enclosure and a fiberglass finish but that is still to come.

Tommy
09-09-2007, 02:48 PM
But in this picture with the panel off, they arent installed...whats the deal?

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f45/mayollo072R/100_0112.jpg

Not trying to be a dick, but when you say something's there, and it clearly isnt, i gotta question.

I know how component speakers work, and you're wrong, they dont HAVE to be connected to the crossover for them to work, you can put any output into them, doesnt mean theyll sound right, but they will work.

As I told you before, thats and earlier picture. At that time not even the amp was installed. The only thing installed was the wiring. Look at the dash is partially assembled only. Remeber that that picture is intended to show the progress on the dash look for the new interior and is not intended to show the new a/v components. In the A/V thread you won't see that picture.

So you dont like evos, cobras, lambrghinis, STI, WRX, mazda speed, etc., Hmmm! What do you drive? Don't tell me is an Hon****.

Rice is for people who install crappy looking (non original bodykits, bad quality carboon fiber, jurasic or frankestein turbo set-ups) and non functinal exagerated things in their cars (almost touching the floor body kits, cuting their springs too make it low, APC scoops, etc). In my car everything is functional and nothing is exagerated. It does not break down so its reliable; it's a daily driver. It is not as low as shovel so you can drive it in almost any road condition. The color is original paint code for 2005 Lamborghini Murcielago and in 99.9% of everybody's opinion including women, kids, elder, men, magazine owners, religious people, politicians, young guys, etcetera you are the .01% that consider my car ricetacular and on this I totally disagree with you because I know what rice is and there is nothing that can make the car look close to it.

That's why I will have an article in Import Power because they were surprised of the great lookin things I've done to this particular car. Nothing close to what they have seen until now.

So regardless of your opinion I know what I have and how it looks. Someone will always disagree because they might not have a good sense of taste or ideas. Mine is street and strip inspired.
