Hello everyone, my name is Paul. I am trading in my 03 WRX and have purchased a 07 Elantra. I wanted better gas milage, and a smoother quieter ride. I guess it was my fault my WRX was loud, but ohh well time to move on. I enjoy learning as much about these cars as I know about Subarus.

Welcome to EXD Paul.
It's funny because many of the people here want to go from the Elantra to the Impreza.

Very true... but welcome anyway.

I noted that too^. Although the elantra is comparatively a slow car, there are mods you can do to bring out its potential. Unfortunately, since it is a new car we do not know as much about it (and what we can do with it) than we do about the previous body style. However, that leaves room to become one of the pioneers! Search around and contribute any insights you have. Finally, welcome to exd.

My wrx had 320whp. I am pretty sure that the Elantra will not be coming close to that. I did get 5k back from selling my mods, but that was less than half of what I put into the car. Ohh well water under the bridge and it was a lot of fun drag racing it. I am NOT going to mod this car at all, I bought it to get away from modding :)

This site has a tendency to change peoples minds about that. I'm sure you'll pick up some little stuff here and there. But, I'm sure the need/want to mod an Elantra after having an Impreza is not quite the same.

It is exactly the same, I am sure there are plenty of people here with very fast cars! Don't forget, WRXs run 14s to high 13s stock, and even ecu/exhaust cars are still 13 second cars. It took 10k to get my car into mid 12 territory consistently. WRXs have have very poor money-power ratio, which was primarily why I am getting away from them. If I build another car it will probably be a domestic v8, much cheaper parts and much faster results. I do want to take care of my new hyundai as much as possible, and who better to ask questions to than to people who build motors and turbo their own cars?
