View Full Version : People Whining in posts

OK...this is a public forum, open to any yahoo who has 2 minutes to create a username right?

Being a public forum, you should be able to post anything you please as long as it is relavant to the topic at hand, isnt derogatory, isnt offensive to anyone, and follows basic forum guidelines. Fair enough right?

That should mean that anyone on here should be able to post an opinion, as long as it doesnt break any of those rules.

SO....why is it that so many people get their panties in a bunch when someone doesnt agree with them?

Im a firm believer of "opinions are like a**holes, everyone's gone one" Take it or leave it. If you wanna argue your point, feel free, cause i sure as hell am if i believe im correct or my statements will benefit someone else. This is a forum, I thought thats what it was all about, helping each other.

maybe im living in a fantasy world, and im sure some of you are thinking, "if you cant say something nice, say nothing at all" but thats baloney. You dont go asking for someone's suggestions, then whine about the ones they give you.

Im most certainly not going to name anyones name, but seriously some people need to toughen up a bit and learn how to take some constructive criticism.

You do know that someone is goin to consider this to be whining right? Eitherway, the moral of the story is not get butthurt on the internet. My .02 cents worth

hmmm..... i agree. BUT, somepeople dont offer opinions, they just talk crap!
If someone comes on a thread of mine with an opinion respectfully then cool even if i dont agree, but if you come at me telling me I am wrong and dumb, etc. then that aint cool!

I guess that was a good thing?

I mean, I TRY to be respectful. I really do, ive even edited posts a couple of times just to make things clear and simple and not trying to make anyone mad. Im cautious of what i post, i make sure my facts are straight before posting, and I will in a heart beat admit if i am wrong.

I know i should probably keep my mouth shut, but if we all did that and did nothing but agree with each other and complement, what good/fun would that be?

There's this thing called tact, and when giving an opinion, even then you've got to be tactful about it. I recall the thread you are referring too.

But let me also point out to you that I myself have been jumped on for opinions, have had quite a few arguments on here, etc, etc. And I've never once began a thread like this.

Tommy, it's best you ignore what you don't like. I do, and I don't let it bother me either. If someone doesn't like your opinion, or take your advice, no sweat off your back. Unless they personally attack you because of your opinion, then and only then should "retaliation" take place. And you do that behind the scenes if at all possible. It's not always possible, but at least try.

And trust me, I let A LOT slide to the side, ignore and just quietly shake my head. If i was to state my actual opinion, or my opinion on everyone's cars....Id FOR SURE (not just question if i am) be the most hated person on this forum.

I agree with Mike.

Just think before you (anyone) type something or just type it out and then instead of hitting Submit just delete it and go on to the next thread. I can't tell you how many time I've done that instead of telling Evan or Sean or Bob or Bryan or Jim or Adam or Felix or Rob or Derek or Dave or Colin or Reece or whoever that I think they are stupid...

(Guys, don't feel special I mentioned you personally)

EDIT- It's also a difference if someone ASKS for an opinion and you give it or if you just give your opinion when it isn't asked.

Now, if they ask for it and you tell them their car is a pile of poop, they really shouldn't get mad.

Yea i hear ya. I should ignore more things, but when people start bragging about stuff they have no need to be bragging about, i have a hard time helping myself.

The internet is full of stupid people, and i know plenty of people have said the same thing about me, but at least i dont call people names like a 4 year old with a temper.

I have to disagree with your statement above. Overall, I find this forum to be very tolerant. Have you been to some of the Honda forums lately? They bash any car that's not a Honda and anyone who likes non-Honda vehicles, constantly insult each other and launch personal attacks all the time...

Personally, I wouldn't bother ever making a post on one of those forums, but I'm happy to be on here all the time.

what code said, alot of us know each other well so while it may look like we are fighting, its just... being dumb really.

edit: and for the record, i've had no problems going onto honda forums, j-bodys, mustangs, supras, rx7s, ford diesels or any other forums and being dissed. Maybe its just me but most of them give me respect.

Ok, well if name calling and insults are acceptable here, then its definatly not a common thing because i never see that stuff on most of the other forums I visit. Infact, if you do that too many times, you're *** is banned.

And who cares if i dont like someone elses car, its their car, i dont have to drive it or be seen anywhere near it, if i think it sucks, well good for me, doesnt effect them in any way, unless they let it.

That's a good way of looking at things. Too bad most people take the internet wayyyy too seriously.

Most of the time, anything on this site deemed "insulting" is all in good fun. If it's a real problem, the mods will deal with it accordingly.
