Started on the interior with the small pieces today. Going for more of the accent thing rather than the entire dash. I do want to do the shifter surround but i'm still not sure how to get this piece out. Saw in another thread that you can pry it straight up and out but is there a particular spot to start from? And technique? Help with this part would be great. Thanks in advance.

^ with the shifter suround, you have to take the entire center console thing out: very easy, very light. i do believe the shifter surround is screwed to it from the bottom. it really is an easy task. looks good.

There is a way to do just that part but I don't want to break anything prying. If I have to remove the whole thing no big deal, but i've seen there is a way

Yeah, there is a way, but you risk cracking it or breaking off the tabs. I recommend you take the console all the way off to make sure that doesn't happen.

^^Yeah. I found that out with the driver's side switch panel. Bent it up just a bit before I decided to remove the door panel and unclip it from inside.

I should do this one of these days. It's simple to do and it's a subtle change i'm not into a flashy interior but i might do the accent peices like a carbon grey or something like that.
