We are going to the post-season - yippee.
And they are their division champs.

Oh god... I can't wait to hear from Mike on this one.
I like Old Man Lou though.
The Dodgers sucked it up down the stretch... again. Oh wells.

Here I am. GO CUBS! Arizona will be the round 1 competitor, which should be a pretty-balanced matchup for the first 2 games, and will swing into the Cubs favor once they hit Wrigley for game 3. I was at the game last Friday (in the bleachers of course) and had a great time. Tried getting playoff tickets last Sunday morning, but they sold out before I ever got through. Now they're going for as much as $3500 a ticket... I can't imagine what they'll cost if they ever make the World Series.
I'm sure I'll have more to comment on this later.

3500 a ticket in the first round. Do they really think the cubs are that good. I still like the Brew Crew even though they kind of blew it at the end.

Brewers were on a massive slide since the All-Star Break. I think it was like a 13 game lead they had at one point. The Brewers will be a very good team in the coming years. With their young players and the offense they can put up, healthy pitching is all their really missing. Injuries to their starting rotation were pretty-much their death.
The Cubs have a shot. They've got a ton of players that have been through the post season (with other teams), and their pitching finally came around in the last month. Zambrano vs. Webb should be a good showdown on Wednesday.
as for tickets... there's just SO many people that want to be there. A baseball game at Wrigley is like nowhere else. I've never been to Fenway, but that is probably the only place that would be even close. Everyone seems to know what is going on during the game, people will cheer and stand without the need of a big scoreboard saying "make some noise" (see also U.S. Cellular Field, Miller Park, etc). The tickets I had for last week, I bought at the beginning of the season when they first went on sale (as I do every year). It was a 'discount day' at $17 per bleacher ticket. On the street outside Wrigley they were going for $150 for a bleacher seat before the game. (Bleachers are general admission, all the same price no assigned seats). I could have sold my 4 for $600 and sat in Murphy's/The Cubby Bear/etc and drank all day for free, but going to the game was worth it.

Yes. Way to lay down and die 3 games in a row. I think our local highschool team could probably have beat them.
Phillies gone too. ALDS games could also be swept. Weird postseason.

That sucks, I didn't even get a chance to see any of the post season.
