Alright I just got a PS2

Not bad of a deal, 2 controllers with 8mb mem card and a game (max payne 2?), I just picked up for 25$. It's in my room right now and I haven't had time to try it yet, but:

I was wondering, what games do you guys recommend? I am already definately going to buy guitar hero 1 and 2 with 2 controllers (which is why I bought this in the first place lol).

Aside from that? Some racing games?

God of War is possibly one of the best PS2 games ever, even graphically. They even show tits!

God of war is extremely awesome, also grand turismo 4. I have both games plus the Logitech force feedback wheel. I like the feeling of it since it's pretty realistic to drive the car. Depending on what other kind of games you'd prefer I'd say a sports game would be the latest NHL game plus a fifa soccer game too.

The PS2 has LOTS of good games. I would figure out what type of games you like and then just buy the ones that are rated highest.

I don't know how you like soccer, but Winning Eleven 6 is one of the best soccer games ever. I will post more suggestions later.

if you have a Gamestop near you check one out, they have well-known used games for 4-5 dollars. You can geta crapload of games for the cost of one brand new one

might be something to check out, since the ps2 is now considered "old" hehe

my favorit racing game is need for speed underground 2. I'm going to buy need for speed pro street too, but I don't think, that it's as good as underground 2. underground 2 is the best racing game, I think.

You can see that God of War, GT4, RE4 and GTA San Andreas that have been recommended in this thread are all on the list.

EDIT - And oh yeah, when I saw the title I thought someone posted in a thread from 2004 (or earlier), hahaha.

This game is surprisingly good. You should be able to get it for $5 but make sure you get the first one. They made some sequels that were not as good.

- GT 4
- Resident Evil 4
- God of War (1 & 2)
- Shadow of the Colossus
- Guitar Hero 1, 2 & Encore
- SSX 3
- GTA (most of them are fun)
- Soul Calibur 2 (best combat game IMO)
- Beyond Good and Evil (nobody know that game but it's freakin good!!!)
