so. engine blew on the 11th. check
finally get it to guys place doing work on 21st. check
now at the 7th, and its still not done. great

first few days they tell me theyre having dumb problems with the car. at first, they didnt start til sat the 22 because the ****tard tow driver put the keys under the seat and didnt tell anyone. so sat night theyre having trouble with the engine/tranny not seperating. i go over for a bit, finally remember the TOB fork. undo that, and they had it apart later that night

then they call me mon/tues to tell me they got it together but the clutch wont disengage. well, dumbasses didnt listen to me about removing the TOB and having it on the forks. so i try leaving him a few messages, telling him i found some things on how to remove it, but he doesnt call back.

so thurs/fri i get a message from the guy who did the work last year (this is his buddy doing it), telling me theyre having an issue w/ the TOB (that i know about already) but theyre getting it taken care of. so im hoping i can have my car back sunday (30th). no message

so this thurs or fri i try to call the guy from last year. cell phone disconnected. so i call one of the guys doing the work. amazingly, he answers. lets me know that its together, but the other guy lost the nut for the ball joint or something and is bringing one home from work, and it should be done that night. good

5 min later i get a call from guy from last year, tells me same thing, but says once theyre done theyre gonna bring it to him, and hes going to go over it and make sure everything is correct, and i should have it sat morning. ok.

tonight, i get a message from him, said that the ball joint stripped, had to be replaced, 32$, and another 20$ for him to press it. then he tells me the TOB will not stay in the PP. he says he can get a new TOB for 60$ or a new kit for 160. no thanks. so now i have ordered a 90$ kit from ebay, hope to god it will be here by wed/thurs so my **** will be back on the road

and the part that pisses me off the most? they agreed to tear down the old motor for 50$ so i didnt have to bring it 25 miles across town, attempt to get it out of my brothers van, and tear it apart. i agreed. that was on the 22nd. well, i tried a few times to get ahold of them to get the parts to take to the PGH meet to sell and make some money, but since no one can return my calls, my parts are still at the garage, and i had no parts to sell

im not dealing with a shop directly

the guy did it last year, i took it in friday, he told me "we cant start it til monday". cool. fine with me. tuesday morning it was done, but because of work i couldnt get out there until wed evening

now, hes at another shop where he cant do work on the side like his old place, so he and another mechanic friend of hsi had to do it in his buddies garage

WOW THAT IS TEH SUCKASS!!!! There is no such thing as customer service it is an illusion. I'd be just as pissed as you are maybe moreso. That is why I'm glad to have a a pretty good mechanical type. I hate people who dick the dog and beat around the bush for B/S reasons.

ha...im almost wishing i bought that extended warranty. they told me 30 days to file a claim. ****, by the time this is done, i could file the claim and get the **** done under the warranty

i tried to call you earlier to see if you could get a deal on a clutch kit at work, but when i found the one on ebay, i said f- it and bought it. i know they wanted like 200$ when i talked to someone a couple weeks ago, and i doubt your discount could get it under the 90$ i paid

well, for ****s and giggles, i checked USPS site. from his zip to mine, its at 2 day shipping right now. hopefully its here wednesday

i checked the feedback and its like 12,000+ with like 12 negative. ha. everyone says its fast shipping

I'm thinking about this one. It's the kevlar that I'm looking for, after that fidanza video explaining clutches.

yea i wouldnt ever put a autozone clutch in my car man

I made the mistake of doing that, and had to change it a year later. I can't believe how crappy those things are.

yeah, if i had the need/money for that, i would have it, but right now, i just need to get my car running so i can get her moms car back to her

I'm not looking into it for the performance gains, but for the material gains over organic. In the video it says that kevlar returns to it's natural state after being burned. And after going through a second clutch now, and being at 130,000 kms...I want something to last a little longer this time.

I drove the car this weekend for the first time in a while, I've been busing to work so my wife can have the car. It's slipping again, yes.

she's actually pretty good, but all it takes is one mistake and one time burning the clutch, and then it's never the same. This past winter she did it while I was trying to push the car out of the snow. It wasn't her fault, but it's just been failing since then.

well, this just shows one more reason i do not use UPS/fedex/dhl

got an email from UPS, my clutch was shipped ground. which means it will be in by "end of day" friday. ****ing great.

USPS could have shipped it cheaper, and 2 days quicker.

**** UPS!

fedex is only way to ship;) really robs02elantra the best clutch for the money is act 6puck thru carolinaclutches.com its 313 shipped for a NICE *** 6puck that is DDable but you just want to allways stay in neutral till your ready to make a move in traffic. the stiffer PP is kinda a ***** but when your moving it shifts like a dream

well, car is done, he said the valve cover is leaking, but because they marked the valve cover bolts for the warranty, he didnt want to remove it. a new one is only 20-25$ from the dealership...im just hoping they have one in stock or can get it quickly

he also said the starter is "getting louder by the day". i dont know why since it was fine before i took it to them. as long as its working fine, im not going to replace it. if/when it goes, ill fix it.

hopefully i can get out tomorrow night after work to pick it up
