I dunno if any of you guys watched the Boondocks. Its a tv show based on the comic strip of the same name by Alex McGruder. It revolves around two brothers, Huey and Riley, who move from the inner city, to the suburbs. Huey is a smart intellectual who is constantly emphasizing positive black culture, while Riley showcases what is in wrong with the black youth (gangsta rap, etc etc.) What makes the show so good, is that it acts as social reflection of the black community and politics, with Huey and Riley acting as polar opposites on each issue. Not to mention that it is pretty funny, and nothing is really sugarcoated.
If you havent seen it, its pretty good. It's been a year or so since the controversial 1st season. I'm actually surprised it came back. I own the 1st season on dvd, and each show always has more subtle themes than what is presented on top.
The season premieres Monday, Oct 8 at 11:30 on CartoonNetwork, but you can watch the entire first episode on their site:
