Someone hit my Santa Fe :(. Unfortunately, we're not sure when or where. My wife and I went out on errands on Saturday (Lowes, HOBO, Hobbylobby, the petstore, and out to dinner). It was dark when we got home, and we took the Elantra when we went out Sunday - so we never saw it. Yesterday when my wife went to work she noticed it.

Looks like someone (with a bright blue SUV - the blue is more noticeable in life than the pics) doesn't understand how to back out of a space. There's a dent right on the bodyline, and blue paint dragged down the side of the passenger-rear 1/4-panel.

Now, door dings get me mad, but they happen and i can accept them. Running into another car and not leaving a note is just plain assbaggish.

I'll take it for an estimate later this week and see what that comes to be. I'm not sure how/if I can turn this into insurance, since I have no idea where it happened and don't have a police report to file? My comp. deductible is only $250, so hopefully I can have the insurance company pick it up.

same thing keeps happening to my husband's Tahoe. He only drives it to work and if we go anywhere on the weekend. Mostly work and church. Every weekend he is finding a new scrape or ding. I feel sorry for the creep at work that keeps hitting his tahoe. One day my hubby will see him do it.

When we had our Sante Fe we had a similar dent, actually quite a bit larger. It was caused by a run away shopping cart at Wal-Mart. We had 40-50 mph winds and a worker let go of the cart it it took off. My wife was putting our daughter into the car and it barely missed hitter her.

Good luck getting it fixed, I want to say that it costs us $500 to get it fixed, well it cost Wal-Mart $500.

People are so inconsiderate nowadays. Once..just once..I wish I could catch them in the act.

Can you say "hit & run"? The cops don't take too kindly to that.

Well, Britney Spears just turned herself in for bumping a car in a parking lot and not reporting it. Maximum sentence is 6 months in jail.

I'd also like to catch someone in the act of keying... and make them eat the key.

If it's not going to be covered by insurance here, I might just get "the ding king" and pull the dent out, then give it a shot with the high-speed orbital and call it done. It'll probably just happen again anyway.

That sucks arse man. I hate discovering new dings and scratches everytime I go out in public. A big dent would really piss me off.

Had that happen to me tooon my old car... I went to a movie theatre to prebuy tickets for a preview double header and was literally gone 5 min, and in that span of time, someone drove into the front quarter panel right in front of the driver's door, and took off. The panel was pushed in far enough that the front of the driver's door couldn't swing behind the panel so I couldn't open the driver's door whatsoever. f'n s'n'v'btch.

No way. The Merlot Red was the best color red they offered on the SF. Tomato Red was the one that sucked.

Meh. . . red attracts attention. . . usually the unwanted type!

This was the wife's car to drive, so she got to pick the color. It was between this or the brown one. I'm glad she picked this, because the brown one has the ugly beige interior.

It's not a very attention getting red, closer to maroon.
