Anyone here running a turbo/supercharger setup? What did you do about your MAP sensor? What is its stock max and what other companies have interchangeable sensors. IE will a GM map work with a hyundai?

max is 2.3 PSI... if you go over it all that will happen is a CEL... it wont go into "limp mode' like alot think. The ECU will continue to add fuel based on RPM via fuel pump voltage

can't you use a check valve...for the map..

say you run this set up:
td05 turbo
plumming
b.o.v
safc2
check valve for map.
turbo mainfold
front mount intercooler.
(injectors later 290cc)

that setup should be good for 5 psi right, on this beta II?

no the 290's will no be enough for 5 PSI. they are good to 3 PSI. no you cant use a check valve... Unless you machine a plate to go over stock mounting location and run a tube to MAP sensor.

well... my supercharged 1.6L set up and my turbocharged 2.0L set up are both map based...

I actually tried to get the GM 2 bar map sensor to work with my SMT-6, (unsuccefully). So i ended up capping the voltage to the ECM from the map sensor at I believe 4.6volts.

I ran in excess of 8 psi with 290cc sontata injectors without comprimissing my air/fuel.

how the hell did ya get 8 PSI out of the 290's/// on a beta II? What were your SAFC settings?

I would love to know.. i cant get more then 3 psi out of these beasts.

well that is your problem.

you are using a safc... lol

dont think that you are maxing out injectors with that kind a fuel management unit. You are merely changing a SINGLE input signal to the ecm.

To truley adjust you fuel you have to realise that your ecm depends on a larger number of input signals to deliver your required fuel. It looks at a large number of signals from sensors and delivers what you need. You can push the stock injectors to around 8 psi with a good tuning devise!!! (however its not recomended...)

I am using a smt-6 and have BARELY figured out the possiblilties with it... I'm only taping into the AIT, crank, map, coils, and tps. But still i was able to run the 290 cc injectors to around 8 or 9 psi (my boost gauge isn't the best).

must be nice...

i could only afford the smt-6 at the time

i am switching to a haltech e6x though....

I have heard from a lot of people who used the haltech on hyundais and didnt really like them. I almost tried an Autronic but i couldnt cough up the money and i got a good deal on the PRS-8. I paid just over what a SMT-6 goes for retail. If i could afford it, MOTEC baby.
