Okay, there are some people who work retail and know what they're doing and are great in customer service.
And then there are the idiot high school dropout punks who need to be slapped. More than once.
I needed new headlight bulbs. I had an old low beam in my hand (H7). The Crappy Tire has all of the GE ones in a locked cabinet (okay, I understand, cuz they're expensive and easy to pilfer).
So I go to the counter and ask this idiot to open the counter cuz I need two bulbs. He asks me what car so he can look it up on the computer, and I said I have the bulb right here, showing him the bulb, and told him he just needed to open the cabinet. No, he needed to know what bulb, so I told him. Just for all you Canadians, the listing is WRONG for all XDs at Canadian Tire. It told him a 9006 bulb, which it's not.
So buddy jots down some numbers and says that the 9006s aren't locked up. I tell him that they're not 9006s, they're H7s and they're in the cabinet. So he grumbles to himself, gets his lazy *** from behind the counter to "show me".
He grabs me a 9006 that's not locked up and says "see?". At this point I wanted to shove that 9006 up his *** till it hit his brain. I asked him if the H7 I was holding in my hand looked like the 9006? "Well, this is what the computer says..." (Just give me the ****ing H7 bulb before I ram your head through the cabinet so I can get it myself.)
I tell him that the H7 bulb came out of my headlamp housing and was he telling me that a 9006 is going to magically transform into an H7 and fit in the housing?? I proceeded to ask him if I needed to get the manager, at which point he opens the cabinet and I grab 2 H7s. He starts saying "well, if they don't fit, then..." and I just turned and left before I would lose it and brain him...

Just had to vent.................

^^Haha. I think anyone who wants to work a store like that should have at least a little automotive background. As for me, I learned a long time ago the computer is not always right. Something will happen to this kid eventually and he'll snap out of it.

What do you expect for minimum wage?

This thought for Discount tire customers. . . they pay their "techs" less than $10/hr. What kind of "experience" do you expect to buy for that wage?

My local Can Tire doesn't lock them up but I've been able to reference H7 using their book that they keep close to the bulbs. That's weird.

The "new" book which now has the silverstar ultras listed, and their computer database, all say 9006 now.
I can understand why they lock em up. The 9006 were Canadian Tire brand and $12 or something, but the H7 OEM GE bulbs were $18 (Silverstars were outrageously priced) and easy to pocket and ebay for later...
I just don't understand where common sense has gone, cuz I was showing him an old ****ing bulb. Who cares what car it was for... I just wanted the same bulb, which he didn't ****ing understand. Idiot.
