So, I went home for lunch, per usual, after stopping at the hotdog stand and grabbing 2 chilli cheese dogs. They're so not-good for you, so I hardly ever get them, but love when I do.

As I'm pulling down my street, I see a girl who lives down the block pulled over on the side of the road. Her baby is in the back. She has a flat rear-left tire on her new Chevy Equinox. I offer to help her change it.

$%(@#$*# YOU RUST! The vehicle has 8,000 miles. I jacked it up, removed the lugs, and could not get it to budge. The hub had rusted and bonded with the alloy wheel. I went to my house and got my floor jack, jack stands, rubber mallet, and PB blaster. For 45 minutes I fought with this wheel trying to get it to break loose, no dice. I had to tell her to push the onstar button and have someone come and break it loose. My next step was a torch, which I didn't want to use on her 8000-mile old car.

I could not believe how rusted it was for 8000 miles!

yeah, I'm a nice guy like that. I would hope her husband would do the same if my wife had a flat.

Oh, and I never mentioned the other part about my chilli-cheese dogs... by the time I got to eating them, they were cold :(

Did you kick it? That always worked for me. . . .that or mostly tighten the lug nuts and roll the vehicle forward, letting the weight of the car break it free.

Man, I did everything I could. I kicked it, I pulled it, I rocked it, that sucker was ON THERE. I did not try to let the vehicle knock it loose, but I'm not sure if it would have.

That's crazy. Mine were actually stuck on there pretty good when I got the rims 2 years ago and tried to change out the stock alloys. Took some serious foot power but they finally gave in.

Im just saying.

She had to be hot.
Some people believe in what goes around comes around or common courtesy ya know. So.........................................was she;)

Hahaha... Reece is awesome.

Mike, I guess you are sort of awesome too for trying to help.

I can understand how he would keep at it...there are some times when failure is just not an option. it doesn't matter who the recipient is, at some point, it becomes a battle of man and machine.

typically, if I have the time, I'll help any female with car trouble (regardless of age, or fatness, etc). men get less help, because I secretly despise men who aren't mechanically inclined.

Next time, use a little more of this:

Update. I stopped and talked to her on my way home. It took a 300 pound dude 25 minutes of laying under the car (while jacked up) kicking the wheel before it finally broke loose. I recommended she take the car in for a rotation so someone else can break them all loose.

next time, hit it with a crappy 2x4

you can get more force behind a heavy piece of wood than you can with your leg muscle and rubber sole of your shoe

No, it wasn't the one who washed my car. This one lives across the street. She is attracive, but I don't know if I'd go as far as hot. Just trying to be a good neighbor/person.

:abovelol: Good call.

She seems like a nice girl though. I would have done the same thing, Mike.

I think a 7 is in order. 6 would be failing, unless there are special circumstances (tig ol bitties, etc)

naw, 6 all the way. I'd spend 20 minutes tops. 45 minutes if she was an 8. She might be a 7 if she was in a hyundai and not a chevy.
