Well, sad/annoyed with myself; I leaned against my Carbonman CF armrest about 20 minutes and cracked it dead center. It's a round crack were my elbow went into to it. I took it off and saw that the underside has a quarter inch white spot. SO...it looks like maybe I cracked mostly the clear coat and lil bit of the CF itself. Now it's decision time, obviously I can't leave it as it is so I'm thinking of sanding the armrest down until I reach the Cf and then clear coating it again.
Not to sure if this is a good fix and do-able. I won't know until I try. So I'm reaching out to any members that have dealt with Cf and resanding/clear coating/fixing. Does this sound good or some other method of repair should be done?
If the clear coat fails, then I have two options, just completely repaint and incorporate some sort of emblem like Elantra Xd/Avante into it. OR be complete rice and use the CF wrap on it.
IF Carbonman is listening, any advice or price break on a new one. I would hate to just toss the thing or sell it dirt cheap espiacelly since I was part of the group buy.
BTW- a pic would help, but it's 2 am here and it can wait until I have time, it's not like my engine blew up/overheated like last time...lol, that sucked.
