I decided that I would get a little adventurous over the weekend and decided to brand myself. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain but I can tell you that it wasnt enough for the job I was doing. I put my astrological symbol on my body for sh*ts and giggles, now I can say that I dont like the aftermath of being burned over and over again at my own hand.
There is no nudity in this photo, no blood, just my stomach. But a link is provided for those a little faint at heart.

I know now that the stomach is a bad bad place, its healing up nicely though and only a little tender.
My appendix scar has been there for 4 years now, im kind of attached to it so im gonna keep it I think.

I have some opinions too but I keep them to myself, wouldnt want to start a war with a select few members on the board. I did this because I am into body mods, not just for something to do. I have no tattoos but have had 26 piercings to date, I dont count ears for this either, I do it because I enjoy the the endorphins and the pain involved. I know to some it may seem weird but its a habit once you start going. Ive been suspended twice before and intend to go through with a minor amputation some time in the future, strange to some, cool to others.
It has a possibily of getting infected, yes. There are a few ways to let it heal though
1- wash twice a day with soap/water, cover and let heal
2- wash twice daily, remove scab is it forms after first 4-8 days, this will help keloids form (this method is painful and has the increased risk of infection)

I had mine burst while overseas in Bosnia a few years back, it was an emergency cut to get me open, I dont mind that its a little haggard looking.

11-18-2007, 08:53 PM
yeah what amputation donnie?
I was discussing this with another dude that checks out BME a lot like me... People who amputate half their foot, that's just messed up.

wtf? why amputate yourself? I can understand piercings, tats, ball bearings, etc. but not REMOVING something. That is beyond me. I PRAY you don't plan on nullification (as in castration or penectomy!)

oh. scary... the doctors said mine was close to bursting when i had mine taken out. they said i coulda died from the possible infections if it did burst. it sucked *** :/ but all is well now. lol

I am considering taking the top knuckle off my ring finger on my weak hand. Its a finger that has no individual control, it was just a thought.

.........why?
i mean, i'm open to things like tattoos and i can kind of understand they can have a symbolic meaning....
but why that?

if you wanted something to decorate your belly button, you shoulda just got a tattoo of 3 dolphins swimming in a circle
as for the brand, i got a guy at work who put "C L" on his forearm. he said it has some meaning to him. all i know is its a big, raised, pink scar...im not talking minor raise, im talking like 1/2". i guess he also has 3 lines on his chest he tried to show me but his shirt wouldnt stretch

did they post again after that? As weird as that was, and as scary as that extra arm was, it was also intriguing.

i too dont understand the amputation part. i know people that got branded. i personally would never. tattoo's and piercings are one thing. i think im too much of a pussie for branding myself. but why cut off a finger? that part i dont get

That was done with a band new soldering iron (purchased just for this kind of thing), a very fine soldering iron tip for the out line and a flat end for the center. All new and sertilized before use of course. I do my own piercings at home as well so I am sure to keep everything nice an clean before, during and after the procedure. The whole thing took about 45 minutes from start to finish, the house smelled terrible for a few hours but went away after I passed out from the huge endorphin release.

wtf, so you didnt do it the traditional way, you sat there for 45 minutes drawing this with a sodering iron?
you really are crazy

Dude, that IS the traditional way...
WTF you think he is going to waste 30 hours making a animal-branding iron he will just press on? You obviously haven't seen how branding is usually done. Studios would never make plates for every single client, lol.

lol its ok James not many people do. I am feeling a lot better than yesterday, more movement is ok, I was able to lay on my stomach for a while and do some machine gun stuff. Lots of rest, tee tree oil soap to wash it and then more rest will help this baby heal up.

No im not crazy, and yes I just sat there...painfully sat there.
