I just took the Fairfax County Police exam this weekend. think i did very well on it, also had the first interview and the guy seemed interested. i find out how i did in a couple weeks. if i did as well as i think i did, i'll be driving down for a polygraph and the physical exam in a month or so. wish me luck, i'll keep you guys updated.

i probably wouldnt even live in fairfax, i hear its expensive (close to cost of living on Long Island)

i would live outside fairfax. also i hear the problem with fairfax is alot of important people live there. so everyone drops names of important people to get out of tickets and what not.

i travel all over this area... i go as far south as woodbridge...and as far north as columbia, md.. almost on a weekly basis

its funny you say that. the detective i was talking to said he lives in prince william county cuz its much cheaper and a close drive. i figure i would get a small apt. the hours are awsome.

6 month academy - 10 hour work days , Tuesday-Friday. so i would go back to LI on the weekends

after the academy hours - 11.5 hour shifts, 2 week schedule.... work monday-tuesday, wednesday-thursday off, work Friday-sunday, monday-tuesday off, work wednesday-thursday, friday-sunday off!

i would get to go back to LI every other weekend.

lol, i may be a licensed Merchant Marine officer, but i've always been trying to do law enforcement. if i can get a job in Fairfax as an officer, it may help me if i get called for Suffolk County. my main goal is to do Marine Division. although Fairfax's marine division has 4 officers that work 6 months a year and the other 6 months they are regular patrolmen.
