Im not sure if anyone else has noticed this or is even aware but lately as we get closer and closer to the Date (December 21 2012) the history channel has been showing specials of Mayan prophecies, Nostradamus prophecies 2012 global earth changes, Major World Catastrophic Earth changes , and alot of related material leading to the year 2012.

According to history the Mayans have the worlds most Accurate Calendar and their calendar ends on Dec 21 2012. many old prophets have predicted that by 2012 most of the worlds population will cease to exist.

other news lead to how the worlds goverment are secretly working with extra terrestials in secret underground bases.

somehow in all of this a new planet pops out "NIBIRU"

George Orwell's novel 1984, I think, coupled with some Nostradamus prophecy that seemed to point to that year. I think also there's something in the Bible about the end of the world coming a generation after the restoration of the nation of Israel (which occurred in 1948), and everyone saw the Ayatolla as the anti-Christ.

Asking that question actually proves my point-- you can pick up on unrelated clap-trap and weave it together into something that seems to be more than mere coincidence but in the end, all it is is conincidence.

We can't predict the weather acurately a few days from now; but we all of a sudden Al and the boys have figured out with absolute certainty that rising co2 levels are going to destroy earth. As you can tell I'm a little sceptical ; but the environment is something we can't ignore and conservation makes sense. ice caps gaining ice...maybe at the moment because its ****ing winter!! but when spring/summer comes the amount of shrinkage is more so every year that goes by...this is why we see polar bears out swimming in the middle of the ocean b ecaue they are swimming from caps to caps looking for food...when there were intially frozen solid....

what im more curious about is what effect will the sun have when it reaches the center of the milkyway in 2012 and the whole panetary alignment thing takes place, scientist don't even know what effect this will have but other worry about a polar shift on the earth. I got my snowboard ready.

Take note of Gulf Stream temps. It is basically responsible for keeping Europe warm. When it stops moving, the ice age will begin.

Could point to Severe ozone damage occurring and the resulting barrage of UV rays. Note that this passage is not before loads of other things occur in that book. Reading through Revelation in one sitting, I get the idea that it describes a very sweeping period of history, where a lot of things happen close together but not within minutes of each other. Definitely not on one day.

I don't want to bible beat anybody here, I'm not into that. But since someone else brought it up first, I thought it was fair game.

I don't know everything, but I would think that if nobody knows the day or the hour when the world will end, and if it's going to come like a theif in the night, wouldn't that mean that if everybody is watching it's not going to happen on that day?! I mean, how often do you sit at home knowing a thief is going to steal everything at a certain date and time, and then it actually happens and you're there to stop it? When was the last time that it happened to you personally? The reason that the analogy was used is because most of the time you are away, or asleep when the thief steals everything from you, and you come home or wake up to find everything gone.

Now I don't know about the whole week of the earth stopping to spin, and whether it's actually going to happen, but the effects would be catastrophic and I think it would come pretty close to ending the world. At which point I would say, the world is not going to end on December 21, 2012. Who knows, it might end on December 24, 2012 when everybody lets their guard down...but it's not going to happen when everyone is waiting for it.

Exactly. If you believe in the Christian's Bible "End of the World" basically, as long as people worry and think about it, it will never happen.

As for the solar flare scare, if it happens every 11 years, that means it happened in 2001. Look we are all still hear nothing to worry about.

I do believe in Globle Warming, but it is nothing new. It has happened long before man walked the earth. If we have done anything, we may have spead up the process, but it is going to happen no matter what. No one can scientifically prove that we have increase the speed of this actually happening because we do not have enough data to compare to the last time it happened. All of it is based on the trade winds and the flow of cold water from the poles to the equator. That flow has been slowing down. That is what is causing our messed up weather. When that slows down more, less warm water is flowing from the equator and we go into an ice age. We are due for one. And normally many "mini ice ages" happen before the big one. And many more afterwards till the balance is regained.

And as far as Nostradamus. I have read pretty much all of his profacies. An not a signle one actually points to any event happening in 2012. Almost all of his profacies are very vague and are open to anyones interpatation.

The atmosphere would still be moving (along with you) so you might get to have a fun ride. before some terrible collision killed you.
