First one ever. 51 in a 30, oops! Didn't even realize I was going that fast though I suppose I must have known I was going to fast because as soon as i saw the cruiser, I tapped the brakes. It was already too late though. Lights on, I pull to the side of the road with licsence and registration ready to go, and here he comes with the "Do you know why I pulled you over this evening?" Guess I was hoping when I said I was going too fast that he'd tell me I had a light out instead. Oh well. $182 lesson learned.

Need to watch the speed.

Last night, the WSP in my area pulled over 118 cars in 4 hours in 1 city limits alone. Speed ranged from 72 to over 110 in a 60 mph zone.

Was going to say the same thing. Also, no *****ing about cops were done either. That, I've had enough of.

No point in complaining about something that's completely my fault. Kind of sucks but like I said, lesson learned. The cop was real nice about it, I was nice back, and we were on our seperate ways.

I was really stoked about not being a holiday statistic. Guess I was the leftovers! Normally i'm really good about my speed, but since I put in the TWM, gotta mess with it.

It is the idiotic complaining that often gets the most noise and the idea that cops are inherently bad does get annoying after so long. Owning up that you admit fault is refreshing.

Yeah, good job.

How old are you? Just curious since you are getting your first ticket?

That stinks. I agree with you. The only time I would complain about a ticket is if the cop was a real jerk. Otherwise you just gotta deal with it.

29. Made it through 13 years without being pinched for this. Previous tickets were for stupid crap. Got one for those neon washer nozzles (younger, ricer stage of life) and one for "failure to drive properly." The cops assumed I was drunk since it was 3 AM and I had swerved over the center line when in reality, I had just gotten out of work (bartending) and was just really tired.

Depends on the local area and if it is a school zone (3 times the regular amount here). Also depends on other factors here. 21 over is just the beginning and if you are following to close, darting in/out of traffic or making illegal lane changes, it adds up real quickly.

Yeah, but it was an avoidable expense and over half the price of the EF catback i've had my eye on. Was deffinately paying attention to the speed on the way home tonight!

You handled this well it bites paying the ticket, but by the way your talking it was a honest mistake, expensive but honest .

Cops have a real thing about speed lately and with good reason, too many people going way to fast, for conditions (road and weather).

As I'm wrigting this I am getting ready to go to a CIS (critical incedent stress )follow up debriefing , from a four fatality mva that happened here this week. Speed was a factor, rumor mill puts the speed at 100kl above the posted, Two fatalities in the speeding veh two more in the veh that was just driving along the road. Either way all four a gone, two young males and an older couple .

Been a long week for most of us alot of people knew the victims, can suck living in a small town everyone knows everyone.

Anyway nice way to handle yourself , please keep the speed down everyone, no one needs to open the door to find a cop and a clergy person telling you that some one that you loved is gone.

Smart people run out of a burning building, why am I running in ?:D

Not only road conditions/weather, people now are more in a hurry to get somewhere. Getting pissed off because you can't go somewhere as fast as you used to do doesn't accomplish anything.

Problem is, there are too many cars on the road than what that road was originally designed for. 20 years ago, I could go to Sea-Tac airport in 20 minutes, and to Seattle in about 30-25 minutes from my house. Last time I drove to Seattle, it took me 2 hours on a good day. Same road, and distance, but much longer commute time.

Another sticking point is roads are not designed for the amount of cars that are on the road. We have a freeway interchange that you have 2 lanes of heavy traffic going into 1 and about 500 feet later, that lane ends into a offramp. Either you get off the freeway or quickly change lanes into freeway speed traffic. You are going 15-20 mph anyway because of the backup and you need to accelerate fast enough to avoid being hit.

Back in May I got a 45 in a 30 zone speeding ticket.

I was coming around a bend on a road near my house, there's trooper heading towards me in the opposite lane. Look down at the speedo, I'm doing 41 mph. We pass each other, I look back and see brake lights but as the road was bending to the right I lost sight of him and didn't see him pullover and turn around.

I look in my rear view for the next minute or so and see nothing. I figure I'm fine. Just as I'm about to make a right turn onto another street, I see him in the distance. I make the turn and am on that road for a mile or so.

Finally he catches up to me and pulls me over. I have my hands on the steering wheel as he approaches. He asks for license and registration. I tell him I need to reach into my bag for my license and my reg is in the glove box.

He says he understands and I can proceed. I give him my info. He walks aways without saying anything comes back 2 minutes later with a 45 in a 30 ticket, tells me how to plea guilty or not and walks away.

So I'm pissed cause I could have lost him in the first place. He took so long to turn around and come after me, there were a bunch of turns for sub-developments that I could've made a few lefts and rights and he wouldn't have found me.

I had my court date tonight. Got a haircut, shaved, dressed nice, sat in the court room for 45 minutes, Trooper never showed up, DISMISSED!

the system really does work.

He probabyl never intended to show up because of hte way you handled it. I had a trooper do that with me the very first ticket I got when I was 16.
