Is that MTU in the Upper Peninsula (Houghton, MI)? If so, I did some undergrad work there in underground mining. It's a great campus (except for when it's under 13' of snow).

I went to Eastern Illinois. One of my professors got one of his advanced degrees up there (Geology stuff). Every year a class goes up to Houghton to do underground work, look at the mineral museum on campus, and study some of the rock formations (did you know there were lava flows in the U.P.). We did it in late October. I wore a ski mask and ski goggles for most of the outdoor stuff, winter comes real early there. We still jumped in Lake Superior though... it was a tradition, but normally the trip is early September, not late October.

It's beautiful up there, although besides the outdoor activities there is NOTHING. I may have to have you send me a new MTU coffee mug from the gift shop, I broke mine.

thats cool. boyne sucks after going out west every year for the last 3yrs. its only good for a little bit of boarding and ALOT of drinking and partying w/the hot local chicks.

and by the way, please dont get stuck in michigan too long after your schooling is done. michigan SUCKS!!!!!!!! it really does. 1 more dr apt about my knee surgery. if i cant board any more, im going back to florida.
