well heres how i look at it

360:
1. Its a powerhouse.....no argument there...i mean **** it gets so hot its burned peoples houses down....
2. Basically a computer....you can safely run a live disc OS on it...
3. Game selection

PS3
1. Looks better
2. Better graphics
3. Sonys been around longer
4. Kaz Hirai has promised some great future games and features to be added
5. oh.......and online gaming is free...with same features as xbox.....

they both have really great strong points thats what makes it soo hard of a decision

For game console, I prefer Wii. But, if I should choose only from PS3 and XBOX 360, I'd choose PS3.
Just write a list of games you want. The list will give you the answer.

Right now there aren't many games that make the PS3 worthwhile. At the same time, the 360 has at least a dozen games that are simply amazing (Gears of War, Halo 3, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Rainbow 6 Vegas, Call of Duty 4 (so they say), The Orange Box, etc, etc, etc). Add that to a proven online system that works great.

Right now I'd buy a 360 over the PS3. Maybe next holiday season the PS3 will be able to compete.

Oh, and if you don't have a Wii, you should try to find one of those too.

don't forget that the ps3 plays blue ray movies too!, but who plays movies in game consoles anyway?, i say check out gamespot.com and see what system has the games you want and go from there, they are both very competetive systems and both promise great games.

Yeah hands down the wii is the most fun you can have playing games. But I would get a 360. I have a friend selling his ps3 and all of his accessories/games for 700 ( he never plays it) it has sat unplayed now for atleast 5 months now. I believe it's a 80 gig model with 2 controllers and the keyboard plucs like 5 games. It's a really good deal.

ps3 because it offers blue ray, a blue ray player costs just as much as a ps3. Games will come out. I've always loved my xbox, but this time around I would get a ps3.

The Blu-ray aspect is kind of unknown right now. If you are worried about high definition movies then the 360 HD-DVD player can be added to the 360. Thing is, we don't know which format will become the standard. Last time Sony gave it a try it didn't work out for them.

Exactly. People keep feeding me this blue-ray hype crap and I'm starting to get sick of it. I can see my DVD picture just fine as it is, and I really don't notice a difference in picture quality between normal DVD's and Blue-Ray. Sony should pull their heads out of their asses and think twice before they claim the PS3 is the "Holy Grail" of electronics just because it has a Blue-Ray player.
