For what reason do you need pistons?

Damn for some reason i thought this was in FI.
I therefore direct the same question as Cypher.

i wanna just change out camshafts and pistons, etc, before i get my turbo. does wiseco have a website or is there a dealer online?
i figured i would put it here because some N/A people might wanna know which are the best

and how much boost are you planning for that you need pistons?
moving to FI

Please step away from your car, and put the west virginia socket set down. If you think that the piston's you're going to use for forced induction are going to be the same one's that will benefit you for N/A, then don't touch your car.

i guess psi will depend, hoping 13-18. i figured i would c what moderate things i could do before i throw a turbo on my car.

You guess? this is not one of the things you just guess at before you decide. You need to come up with a clear, concise, well thought out plan for going turbo before you come to the conclusion that you need pistons.
You'll be fine with moderate boost of about 10-12 psi on stock internals. Do you really plan to go higher than that? What turbo are you chosing? what fuel management? do you have all these things in line and chosen before you go on to pistons? Where are you getting camshafts from? Theres very few available, only ones really are kspec and regrinds since as my Colt cams.
Headwork is expensive compared to pistons? Forged wiseco pistons will run you about 500 bux. Are you planning to install them yourself? Are you SURE you have the knowledge/skill to do that on your own? If not you'll have to pay someone to do that for you which won't be cheap.
Not trying to be an *** just trying to make sure you know what you're doing.

if you're going to lower compression you will lose power without boost.

okok. i was planning on using the kdmstuff turbo kit with the exception of the intercooler, piping, and bov. i was planning on using jattus. turbo would be the garrett one that is offered at kdmstuff. ok so basically i dont need them first, i would need to be boosting first, right? so 12psi would be the mosty psi i could achieve without pistons?

it would depend on ur level of knowledge. Other have ran upwards of 17 psi on the stock internals (Jongtr). Dave (dmdicks) runs 14psi on his turbo setup.

ok. sounds good im pretty knowledgable, im not ase certified lol but i know what im doing, the good thing is that jattus lives not too far from me and hes boosting like 20 pounds

Matt also has 1.8 rods/pistons that drop the compression to ~7.7:1
Jattus = Matt

ya matt is pretty damn knowlegdable i wanna c his car. i assumed he had pistons, boostin 20 on stock internals that would not be smart lol

I had Ross pistons made for my car, but I had them made with special cut outs for my valves ( not needed, but a safety precaution) and domed with a lip. I had them made for a 9.5:1 compression because I was going to boost up to 28 psi on super and 35 on high octane. Look at how much boost you want first. I could recommend reading Turbo Performance i think it's called by Bell.

Damn you are getting old, lol
Here's a thread YOU made: http://www.elantraxd.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70
And the books YOU recommended, lol:
Also, you should read these books:
Maximum Boost - Corky Bell

i run about 16 and some peak up to 18psi (thanks for the cold wheater up here) on the stock bottom end
i don't recommand that to every one but it can be done
