Hey Guys!

A doubt...What is the difference in operation between a "Crankcase Evacuation Kit" & a "Oil catch can with trick air flow filter"?

Crankcase evacuation Kit:

Oil Catch Can With Trick Air Filter:

Also, i have the latter kit, i removed the air-filter & put a plug in it's place as i'm currently N/A. When i had connected the air-filter with the catch can, the RPM had shot up to around 3000 & held steady there, while the car was stopped.

Now, when i go F/I, & under normal stop & go traffic (when not under boost), will the rpm still be so high, as there will be vaccum in the IM?

I don't totally understand since your english is kind of funky,

BUT

it looks like you tapped into the intake manifold nipple and since your catch can goes to the atmospher, it created a very big vacuum leak.

Yes Felix, that is correct, it was due to the vaccum leak as i am N/A. BUT, in F/I, in closed throttle position, there will be a vaccum in the IM, right?

So will my RPM shoot up again?

If so what is the use of the "Trick Filter"?

Bump....guys....

Let me rephrase the question:

With a trick filter in the oil-catch-can, my rpm shoots up, due to IM vaccum leak (as Felix rightly said)...since i am NA.

In FI form, with a supercharger, in stop/go traffic, will the rpm shoot up again?

Yes. You need to set it up differently.

Your catch can goes to the atmosphere. You need a closed catch can.

OR:

You can run it like I did. I had a can like yours, I ran the PCV line to there, and nothing back.
