Hooray Oil!

ok, so maybe thats a little too much excitement for something as simple as doing my own oil change, but it was my first one in the dirt of the garage, and not using a lift or jack stands. but thats beside the point. I switched to full synthetic for the oil change, Castrol Syntec 10w30. I noticed i picked up appx 2-4 mpg over the three fill-ups since the oil change and was wondering if this was normal with synthetics.

That's not exactly normal with syn oils. Maybe 1-2. See if the mileage keeps up, and if it does, then it's the oil cleaning out your engine. On the next change, see if the oil is exceptionally dark.
