Ok I am going to run NA for a while, meanwhile I want to learn a bit more about FI setups. My biggest concern comes with the boost controller and gauge. Aem sells the tru boost controller that looks like a gauge. How does a boost controller work and how is it set up and the same for a boost gauge? Also for the BOV you need to run a vacuum from the intake manifold, after the throttle plate, to the BOV, how is this done? Is there a fitting for it or do I have to drill? And how does the MAP sensor get used, with the controller and gauge? Or is the MAP only used with the piggyback? Sorry for all the questions but Ive been checking and all I keep finding is the AEM EMS that they are making for us. I thought that if it was a mechanical boost gauge, you just get a fitting in the charge pipe close to the throttle plate to get the pressure reading for the gauge. The turbo MAP gets connected to the piggyback and the MAF goes in the charge pipe. I read Wiki and what I understood is that the boost controller feeds pressure to the wastegate actuator to keep it shut until a certain psi of pressure reaches to it and then it opens to prevent more exhaust to act on the turbine. To get optimal boost, say I want 20 psi of boost, this is an imagaine kind of thing, I would have to work with both the boost controller and the boost gauge, adjusting the controller until I get the wanted boost at the charge pipe end. I was thinking about using manual boost controller with a T fitting. Is this how it works? And please no comments on searching if you can help me out leave a comment or leave it to yourself.

for the record...using a SAFC is not they way to go...

i'm working on reprogramming the hyundai ecu for a plug and play app...just need a spare computer to do it with...

they guy i know does any ecu he can get his hands on and does all of the dyno tuning...but he needs a computer to test on and to break the code. once that happens he will be able to reflash the stock ecu to whatever we need it to be.

i guess i let the cat out of the bag....so if anybody has any extra ecu's laying around...pm me.

They have those, they are called standalones.

Keep the MAF sensor out of boost ... put it before the Turbo. Its more trouble then its worth from all the tuners that I have talked to, your choice though. As for the boost controller ... you pretty much got it. It will keep the wastegate shut until the low boost setting is reached, and then open it as necessary to keep it below the high setting.

It uses a valve that opens and closes very fast, accurately controlling the amount of pressure that is acting on the wastegate.

... now run as fast as you can, there coming ... lol ;)

Interesting ... KIA crowd is already testing it :D
