Does anyone know the "High Spoiler" from the Tibby will fit the Elantra GT (5dr)?

I can't answer specifically, so I'll offer some generalities.

Anything can be made to "fit," but the question will be how much work is involved. I can't think of anyone who has put the Tib high spoiler on an Elantra Hatchback - which leads me to think it's not an easy adaptation. Most likely someone would have done it along the way somewhere. My thought is the angles of the mounting surfaces will be different, so the spoiler won't sit flush on the car.

Even then^^ sandpaper & elbow grease...

I don't have a hatchback, so I'm not uber-familiar with the rear mounting surface for the spoiler, but looking at the tib, it looks much more arched than the relatively flat surface of the elantra hatch. Could probably be made to fit, but talk about a PITA

I agree with everything Mike said.

If you want a high spoiler look and feel you could go with either the XD or XD2 hatch high spoilers available in Korea (and Canada).

The spoiler from a Toyota Celica fits the GT very nicely.

I think the bases of the Tib rear spoiler upright parts are too curved front to rear to fit the rear hatch top on an Elantra GT... I'll look at a friend's Tib tomorrow at work parked next to my '02 GT and let you know what I see.

the tib wing will not fit. the bases are too big.

take the canadian one (why canadian? we can buy it in Germany too) or take the other XD wing. In Germany sold for the XD2

^ yep, you'd be better off getting the Canadian XD spoiler. The tibby spoiler really doesn't look like it would fit, based on me looking at one on the Tib next to my XD hatchback here at work.

You'd probably have to do some significant modifications to get the tib spoiler to work on an XD.

Erm the spoiler is the Canadian one... The one you posted is different ElantraXD....

LOL

yes, I know. 2 different Spoiler, but both from Hyundai for our Elantra XD. The one which you've posted was my old spoiler.

The "Canadian" one is sold in Germany for the XD1 (fits also an the XD2) and the one which I post is sold in Germany for the XD2 (fits also an the XD1)

The spoilers cost in Germany about 150€ ~ 220 US $. and when I remember right is the XD2 spoiler ready painted in car color (original Hyundai color)

Ah ok.

We call it canadian because it's not available in the USA.

And besides Canada is right next to the USA, as germany is kind of overseas ;)

Ok...

next question is, is the High Spoiler the same for the 4 and 5 door GT?

hyunelan2

No. The sedan has a different spoiler than the hatchback. Unfortunately for you, hatchback spoilers are a little harder to come by. There are some out there, but there are many more options for the 4-door.

That would be a link to a "lip" spoiler, not the "high" spoiler as the initial post indicated.

Not so good at reading, eh?

I think the highest spoiler you can buy for the 5 door Elantra are the two original from Hyundai.

or take the same spoiler as I. Than it can have a high till up to 25cm!

Hey Brav, dood I'm really really surprized that nobody had the brains to post this link. "04gtboysc" mentioned the wing and showed you some more pics of it but I'm guessing you'd like a link. Oh and Brav, don't let the ppl around here push you around :) always push back lol

http://www.evofusionusa.com/TeamSR/Hyundai/01elantra-gtwingtails.html

That's potentially the best wing that is offered to a 5dr Elantra in terms of fitting properly and not having to piss around trying to make it fit. I personally would like to get one of these wings too so if you e-mail Evofusion about it let me know if they've got a few extra in stock.

I've got the KDM GT wing as well. It's pretty sweet if you don't mind waiting 6 months and you don't mind painting it when they send you the wrong color. All credit goes to 04GTboySC...as soon as I saw it on his car, I knew I HAD to have it.

To the original poster:

If you want the "canadian spoiler" (the one without the funky looking feet on the sides you see on my car I posted), I can get it to you primered with the original box unopened for around 230$ shipped (+- 10$ for shipping depending on your location it could vary). Send me a PM with zip if you're serious about this.

can a mod change the name of the thread its actually really stupid that this is an elantra forum and we are letting someone get away with calling it an elanatra

Hey, a car with an easy-carry handle!!! ;)

That's what I always think when I see a car with a very high spoiler.

However, I do like the look of the high spoiler on the Elantra.

Thank's for all the insight fellas. I actually prefer the clean look of the Canadian spoiler over the Evo as seen on KeWLKat's. Depdnding on if i opt upgrade wheels or just replace the single stock ($$$$), I'll be hiting you up!
